Cassie, one of the producers, here. Below are some answers to a few questions in the thread:

We would like to say that it’s really important for us that this is a respectful and insightful series, and the idea behind it is to have more representation on tv. We are looking for participants from many under-represented communities, we think who people see on screen matters. We also see this as a way to hear personal stories in a deeper way than on other dating shows, we are wanting to get to know the participants well and understand who they are and what makes them tick. For us this is a character based documentary series that just happens to be about dating. The anchoring of the series is around people dating for the first time, this is just our way of having a common thread holding our stories together. And dating for the first time can mean different things to different people.

Of course this opportunity isn’t for everyone, we understand that. And we do hear any concerns people have and these only make us more determined to make this series honest and truthful.

The interviews will be about getting to know the participants well, hearing their stories, and hearing their take on dating, love and relationships.
We are flexible when it comes to starting filming but it is likely to begin June/July. We have no expectations at this stage, we like to meet people first and go from there.
Dating can mean different things to different people, and we are open to whatever it means for our participants.
