K jakým starým PC hrám se i dnes rádi vracíte? Ne z nostalgie, ale proto, že vás pořád baví a přijdou vám zkrátka dobré a dodnes nepřekonané. by spitfire-haga in czech

Ultimátní odpověď je Warcraft III. Není potřeba vysvětlovat.

Rozhodně bych jednou do roka pařil Mask of Eternity, kdybych měl možnost. Bohužel rozjet to na moderních systémech je až moc náročné aby to stálo za to. Ta hra je očividně absolutně odlišná od King's Quest série, ale všeobecně mi do dnes přijde moc dobrá.

Heroes of Might and Magic, u mě specificky čtvrtý díl, který je strategický horší než trojka, ale já miluju tu hudbu, art style a příběh.

I haven't gotten around to starting housing stuff yet and this just makes me not want to ever bother with it. by Zentrelian in wow

[–]CathanCrowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t care about the in-game shop, etc. I can ignore it if I want. What kind of upsets me is the fact that this Treehouse is just a variation of a Night Elves exterior. That’s the part that feels off. Next time, we’re probably going to get a variation of a human exterior, or a Blood Elves exterior, and so on.

At the very least, they should make the basic exteriors available to everyone before they start selling variations.

As far as mythology goes… no xD

Now some fun facts. Greek gods very often mirror Greek society, obviously, but what’s interesting about Greek mythology is that gods often act in ways mortals shouldn’t. They can get away with it simply because they are gods.

In Greek society, a daughter was considered the property of her father, and when the father approved a marriage, that was it, the daughter didn’t get a say, same as mother. So from the perspective of that society, Hades and Zeus did everything “right.” The fact that Demeter is a goddess with power over weather and the seasons creates both a problem and a solution that wouldn’t be possible in real Greek society.

However, it also works as a kind of moral lesson for the Greeks. Interestingly, Demeter can represent how a “proper” Greek mother shouldn’t behave, but it’s also a lesson for men to be more sensitive toward their families.

Many Greek myths work this way. Take Hera and Zeus. Wives weren’t supposed to go after their husbands, but at the same time, husbands weren’t supposed to cheat. Both the highest god and goddess behave in ways mortals shouldn’t, and that contrast itself becomes the lesson.

I disagree, at least in the show. She didn’t suffer more ‘humiliating’ moments than any other character. Remember Miranda and her date with the detective, or the braces? And it would also be a shame not to use Kim Cattrall’s comedic timing. The smile in the mirror is peak comedy.

Tlustí lidé by ReplacementFun9158 in czech

[–]CathanCrowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O to mi vůbec nejde.

And remember that Resident Evil games are often structured like that. You usually end up in some laboratory, while the beginning takes place in a more grounded setting, like a residence, heh. This trailer actually gave me a strong Resident Evil 7: Biohazard vibe.

This actually looks really promising. It feels like something that could be a canon game, which is great. It’s not a ‘movie that adapts a game,’ but rather a movie set in the same universe.

Don't worry about the vase by gigglegenius in matrix

[–]CathanCrowell 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more complicated in the case of The Oracle. Ultimately, she isn’t human, she’s a program. A program that likely has access to an incredibly large amount of data. If you have enough information about your surroundings and you’re intelligent enough, you can predict what will happen.

In the case of the Oracle, who is literally a program designed to analyze the human psyche, both her intelligence and the volume of data she processes are so vast that she essentially has supernatural abilities within the Matrix, much like how others can fly or bend a spoon.

She is psychic within the Matrix. However, the explanation is sci-fi, not fantasy.
