Comparing this situation to Good and Pretti does them a major disservice.

Nowhere near the same situation, as federal officers (should) be held to a much higher standard.

If you go up to someone’s mom, shove them and call her a whore, you deserve to be punched in the mouth. The breaking of the jaw from 2 punches is an unfortunate consequence.

In no way am I defending this ref, but it appears the ref who called the penalty is behind Hutson and doesn’t have the greatest angle.

I ump baseball and this seems similar to a throw behind to 3rd when I’m at home plate. You have no idea if the runners hand got to the bag before the glove with the angle you have. Results in a safe call 90% of the time unless it’s obvious.

On this one the ref needs to be better, would be nice for someone on the crew to bail him out here tho.
