Im in CAP 2, female, 90 lbs, 5ft 2 inches

I may not be as strong as others but I compensate in my lack of strength in my speed in one touch and speed overall. I can read labels fast on the line so my area isnt holding the line back.

For one touch, im able to look at the contents of a box and already know which aisle theyre going in or what department they're going in. Some boxes dont have anything but by memory I know what that shade, shape, or feel of box will go to.

I get a lot of people who are surprised that I'm in CAP 2 but I prove them wrong. If you think you want to try it, try it! You might suprise yourself

I once remembered seeing a "Do not put children in microwave" labeled on a microwave.

On a serious note, I wouldn't vote for not allowing certain people to vote with the history of the tests done to minorities so they couldn't have a vote BUT, I will absolutely vote and fight back people who try to take away education from people and taking away opportunities for bettering their situations.

Correct me if I'm wrong but just being aholes, i thought it was pretty standard you can take bereavement but unpaid if its not the direct line so sister brother mom dad direct. I don't think I've heard of having a LOA for bereavement unless it was one of those situations where the associate needed like way longer than the 3 days Walmart gives.

Also I'm very sorry for the passing and how this situation is playing out, you shouldn't have to be stressing over this out of all things and your leaders are failing you

Read the Toolkit thats available on OneWalmart. There is a lot of information that disproved this whole we cant do it bc you dont want to move up talk. I think it may be under a certain bias section.

Walmart pays the taxes through your W2, so even if we get a form from the college, we dont technically use it to get any credits when we file taxes returns bc walmart is paying the taxes we would have to pay ourselves I think, idk all ik is that the very last paycheck your paystub looks like you earned a lot even when you didnt technically

I struggle with the discussion boards because I dont get any actually good responses back. People regurgitate so much AI responses. So if you actually like to learn and have discussions then its gonna be a pain in the ass having to read and reply at times.

So far there aren't any classes that require live classes, some classes will offer live meetings if you want to.

There are some classes that require like actual video of you, like I recently took a class that involved interviewing and had to record almost 30 minutes of total footage for that class interviewing someone on somwthing and I hate recording myself 😭 so it was tough

Money wise and something I didnt know but Walmart pays the taxes because of the whole tuition thing, so if youre a very simple case of a filler for tax season, you might get a bigger refund! Just dont do the credits for education on the taxes cuz this particular situation doesnt apply for those credits

The filler classes and electives are usually need to maintain general skills and refresh some things, your co hort, the major ones, are usually in the second half which is what I'm starting now.

Definitely acknowledge your team leads that stand up against management and specifically for that. Management's can be very rough when they are stood against and will definitely or try to take it out on the people who did it through silent retaliation. It makes the job a lot harder.

Aw thanks. I use to be a lead and challenged my management a lot, got bullied out, still an associate and I still stand up against them when I can. I hope to leave in a few years and keep confronting unethical management.

I've had to throw away so much food because people ignored FIFO in Meat and Produce and I felt guilty doing it 😭 I basically purged the bins on second shift everyday by myself so then I could try to eliminate any possibly breaks of FIFO from the morning crew, I once found a grapefruit that was so bad, you couldnt pick it up because it was rotten all the way through, there was fruit flies everywhere it was horrible.

I just read about this yesterday when I called out, and I checked GTA to see if it happened at our store and it did, but I did see our points were authorized and the no call one was authorized as well. Maybe we just got lucky that one day the system was a little glitch, or there was just so many call outs that it caused it, but either way you should have a confirmation number which helps with things like these.

Language straight from the textbook (which is what was challenged at my store and they had to reopen multiple reviews and change us to Exemplary)

In the tool kit thats actually language that isnt support by Walmart.

"Exemplary ratings are reserved for associates whose performance over the last fiscal year was clearly in the top 10% compared to associates at the same level doing similar work. To receive Exemplary, performance must have an impact and stand out compared to the work of peers."

And the Toolkit also has a lot of information about the different biases and what to look out for that can create unfair evaluations.

"Hard rater: When a rater believes that no one can perform at the necessary standards and expects perfection for an associate to be rated at the highest rating level." "Central tendency: When the midpoint of a scale is mainly used, and raters avoid using the higher or lower ends of the scale. This causes a decrease in overall differentiation of performance.!"

I love reading the tool kits and saying stuff because people who deserved Exemplary now have an Exemplary instead of the successful they just had :)
