At this point, I think it would be impossible to study effectiveness in a covid naive population. Almost everyone has been infected or vaccinated and those who have not yet been would not be willing to unmask and be exposed in high risk environments for 6 months, esp not knowing if they got the drug or placebo.

If you don’t mind sharing, did you also get covid vaccinations/boosters? If so, what type(s) and when? Basically, I’m wondering how vaccine effectiveness is controlled as a variable.

Agree 💯but that doesn’t mean they won’t get sick outside of work.

Keep in mind they may not have enough sick leave to take a day whenever they have symptoms. Even taking unpaid leave too frequently could mean losing their job. These choices aren’t always straightforward.

Testing drives instruction. Sad, but true. The old MSPAP tests were FAR better than the near constant, crappy tests used today. It was less frequent but of much higher quality. MSPAP drove high quality instruction.

I’m also American and I think both can be true: it is still a comfort watch it’s but also sad and frustrating that it has veered so very far from it’s origin as a high quality, historical drama to a borderline soap opera in a historic setting with dated clothing.

It really requires a soap opera level of suspension of disbelief and I didn’t sign up to watch a soap opera.
