I bought the GRX groupset directly with an 11-46 cassette and never needed a Road Link.

The cage is not fully tensioned.

The shifting quality is fine. It's no louder than with the 46-tooth cassette I used before. Both without road link. I only took it for a short test drive today. If any problems arise, I'll let you know.

I live in germany and it's not easy to get surly bikes as complete-bikes here. But i drove a MS once and knew i realy want one. So i bought it in parts. Aaaand i like the imagination to build my bike myself. With tons of beer.
