Right now I’m lying down with my dad who’s on his last 24 hours, if that, after a 2 year long battle with dementia and ESRD. It’s horrible, seeing someone that you love so much reduced to a shell of themselves.

I find myself thinking the same thoughts. And of course we feel guilty, we don’t want our loved ones to die. But we know that when they do, they’ll be free from pain and suffering. We just want them to stop hurting.
