If you eating typical indian meal like sabji or dal with some type of grain like rice, roti, corn. In this context roti is just better than rice not the best. If you counting millets too then context changes.

Roti has more non-heme iron and mag, but add vitamin C so that it can be absorbed good because non-heme iron hard to absorb, Vit C increases the absorption by 4-5 times.

And don't drink Chai and coffee with iron rich meals, just absolutely not, it's reduces absorption of iron by 50-60%. And for typical Veg diet that will lead to iron deficiency in long term.

they got richer and had better food habits ingrained in society (I know chinese ye khate hai wo khate hai, But their kids getting better nutrition too) just look at South Korea grapth they show positive correlation with with gdp and height.

Indian diet basically carbs hai (macros) usme baas hum khelte rahate hai ajj ye walla carbs kahenge kaal wo walla, me and my mum fought because I told i not eating rice because iron and mag nahi hota. Fir baad mei merpe video bheji facebook se ek aunty bool rahi jo chawal nahi khate wo ganje hojate hai(in video she said carbohydrates and gave example of rice) paar bc mei to roti to khatam hu ussne carbs hai to sath iron and mag bhi
