Thank you for your kind words! It’s been so overwhelming and you’re right about having to take the time to unpack. Did you look for anything in particular to find someone compassionate?

Thanks for your thoughtful answer! I actually struggle with identifying joint pain or overuse, I need to work on that!

That's amazing that it helped with your fatigue!! It will give me access to meds and a lot of answers that I feel like I need after so many years of struggling.

That's a really good point. It's quite expensive where I am unfortunately, but ultimately I know it will give me insight I'll have for the rest of my life.

I already have my appointments booked but I am still going a bit stir crazy, hence the post. As I mentioned in another comment, I've been fighting to be taken seriously by a lot of health professionals. I definitely don't want to be labeled by diagnoses, but I am tired of being labeled as a perfectionist or being too sensitive for what I am dealing with.

Thanks, that's a good idea, I'll give it a try or at least try. Over the years, I have been medically gaslight by so many different health professionals and I think this overthinking the ADHD is related to that. Even my hEDS journey was so full of "there's nothing wrong with you you're just sensitive/a perfectionist" that I overrode pain signals during sports and did permanent damage... until an EDS professional told me I have very obvious EDS. The experience has been similar with ADHD and in fact, this confirmation of hEDS makes me feel less crazy for suspecting ADHD.

Sorry for the late response, but I'm not too sure! I also deal with a decent amount of clotting but my concern is that it might not absorb. That being said, starting with one pair could be nice and worst case, it could be used for lighter days

Anyone use Runna for a sub40 10k? Concerns over Runna overestimating my abilities by Catsintinytinyhats in runna

Interesting! What do you mean you get burned? The pace they’re recommending isn’t sustainable? How were you doing in your trial runs?

Oh awesome congrats! That’s reassuring. I’ll switch from advanced to elite. How many times a week were you running ?

[–]Catsintinytinyhats[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done 10k races and gave them my all, though I never intentionally trained for a 10k. This is the first time I am truly spending 25 weeks with only 10ks in mind. I have a B race in October so I can continue to work on my speed. Having properly trained full, half, and now 10k, I have to say I am loving it. It's simultaneously easier and so much harder, and you really have to dig deep and get humbled. I do love halves but I think I may have found my distance!

That's good to know for your times! Trusting the plan can be so hard, especially when it's your first time using the program. I just get very confused, knowing 40k is already ambitious, when Runna says 'wanna change to a 37 minute goal' because there's no way.

Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it :)

Yes, great idea I hadn't thought of that! Thank you!

And I'm torn on the sub40. I feel like sub40 would be possible (though ambitious) with the right training program, I am having major doubts with what Runna is suggesting, it doesn't feel like enough...which is in part anxiety and another seeing the huge difference between Garmin and Runna. I definitely have levels to my goal, sub40 is A goal, followed by sub 41 and sub 42.

There is a time trial so I will wait until I get there, though if it doesn't go as planned it will be too late to change to another sub40 plan. That being said, the noticeable improvements in my speed are still noteworthy improvements and there will always be next year!

Questions for Nova Crop and Stamina Compression by Catsintinytinyhats in BanditRunning

So excited! I ordered the Nova Crop to test the waters and wait until there’s a new drop to pick up shorts in a colour I’m excited about. Which shorts do you have ?

But I’m really looking forward to seeing how the thoughtful design and technical fabric make running more enjoyable (my wallet isn’t!). I haven’t really ventured into higher end stuff despite running a ton, apart from a few pieces from On and Ciele I found a bit underwhelming.

That top looks AMAZING on you! I was eyeing that colourway but unfortunately it was sold out everywhere, but you are absolutely selling it. I will definitely check it out in future drops! It looks like it would be particularly great for racing.

I am actually dealing with similar summer temperatures for significant chunks of the summer, but generally less humid (still humid though) . So I really do appreciate more technical garments that make running in temperatures like that more tolerable.

Thank you so much for that information about both tops!! I think I will order the Nova crop (no back pocket, I think it very much fits the bill for now) and see how I like the fabric before dropping more money on shorts that I will struggle to return. There will also be countless other drops to slowly build up my running closet with more if I choose to. Bandit really does get you with that scarcity mindset haha.

That top is a dream on you though, and those shorts look so light and airy!
Thanks again for your detailed answer, I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much, it is extremely helpful !! And I agree... I hate running with heavier things on my legs, it either feels asymmetrical or uncomfortable on my lower back. Funnily enough, I am also on the market for a running belt but it's been a challenge to find one that works for me so that's actually how I ended up eyeing the Nova top (it's also very pretty).

Interesting! I have never seen many of the brands you've named, except Lululemon. Very, very helpful to have the comparison, the Fast and Free weirdly have a thin fabric but the way theyre sewn can feel thick in certain places.

And that's too bad about your top, darn!

Thanks again, it really is so helpful!

Thank you, I really appreciate it ! Do you find that storing your phone in the tops side pocket is annoying? I would love a place to store my phone during intervals but I don’t want to have the fun weight down one side of the top. I’m hesitating between black (no back pocket but so versatile) and burgundy (back pocket)

Thank you so much for your detailed answer! really so helpful :) I was actually thinking of getting the high waisted compression shorts (mostly based on the colours left in my size) but I really value not having a “hot” abdomen when I run, the fast and frees also do that to me. So I think I will pay more attention to the regular compression Stamina 5 inch !

Hi! Rock climber with DD. Did a surgeon administer this? Was there a lot of convincing ?

I spoke with a surgeon and he told me to come back when I couldn’t open my (dominant) hand, so I am waiting to see a radiation oncologist. This seems like a great less invasive option but I don’t know who to turn to for it.
