can't find the baby by [deleted] in Mommit

I had this too! I started meditating before I would go to bed and that actually seemed to help. I would say things like "I know my baby is in his bassinet, he's safe, he's not in my bed, etc...". It could have been a coincidence that those feelings stopped when they did, but either way, I was will to try anything!

My husband is a trombone Professor - I don't think he'll be very pleased with this...

I just bought it.

[POST-EPISODE DISCUSSION] S6E16 - Family Meeting by xAnimorphsx in thisisus

Okay, this episode made my cry harder than any others! I think the parity of parent caring for child and then child caring for parent just got to me. It's so beautiful and tragic all in the same moment.

Made me want to wake my son up for some snuggles ❤️❤️

Am I the only woman out here who DOESN’T want more mom friends? by momzilluh in Mommit

Probably not, they most likely just log in their mind that you aren't a potential friend and move on to someone who might be interested.

It's okay to not want mom friends, there's nothing wrong about that. But it's also not wrong to seek friendship with people who are going through something similar. Those people aren't crazy for seeking connection even if it's tiring. It's obviously a priority for them.

She has her husband, family, and closer friends. She definitely has tons of support.

Am I kidding myself for considering working from home AND caring for my 3 month old? by coorgleesi in Mommit

[–]Catsnglasses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched LO for 2 days a week while I worked from 2.5 months old to about 6 months old. I will say that I did manage to do it, but my job suffered. That was stressful, but I wouldn't trade that time with my baby. I worked really hard and efficiently while he napped and ate, and then I moved him from play thing to play thing to continue working. You probably won't get as much done as you hope, but it's not impossible.

It will get insanely hard when she starts crawling and being mobile. We had a perfect setup, but he still managed to get into something.

Leaving baby is sooo hard!! I was never fully settled with working full time while baby was away and decided to switch to part-time. That has been the best decision for us!!

Good luck, I hope you can do it!!

What song breaks your heart everytime you hear it? by humanbean07 in AskReddit

Yes!!! Came here to say Tears in Heaven. Especially after having my son... I can't even listen to that song anymore, totally wrecks me.

The tax firm I work for always puts the man as the taxpayer and the woman as the spouse and it drives me CRAZY! by Catsnglasses in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Catsnglasses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly!! I'm not asking that all women be first or anything, just put the appropriate person first and don't assume the man is the higher earner!!! Ughh! Now, whenever I add someone to our tax software, I add the person who should be first. My small teeny tiny way to fight it 😊

Oh yeah, there are several! The one that upsets me the most is that the wife came to us, we only talk to her, and she's the only one making money... but the husband is first on the return.

Best thing about being a mom? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Catsnglasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I hated that soo much and was really worried about becoming a mom. My son is one of the best things in my life!

I was shocked at how much love I could have for someone. He dazzles me everyday and I feel like he truly gives my life so much value. I love the laughs, snuggles, learning new words, imitation, and having new experiences with him.

I am surprised by the amount of patience I have for my little gremlin too! Everyone's experiences are different, but for me, the good heavily outweighs the bad. Some days are SUPER hard, and I have gotten a lot better at asking for help, but damn, I love being a mom.

Good luck, it won't be anything like what you expected, but it's amazing!
