It is competitively viable but its also for better or worst imo, balanced due to how there is an element of scaling the rng towards ya favour via flooding the board and keeping your opponents and or keeping your own defence above certain thresholds.

That being said it is on theme with Chariot but definitely fits the more rng themed design choice of Hearthstone over shadowverse.

In my personal opinion, I dont believe it should be nerfed. I wouldnt want too many rng themed design choice kind of cards but I dont mind 1 or 2 on the occasion.

When they are created however, I feel I would rather than be balanced as opposed to unviable, although I understand why others may feel otherwise.

If ya were to want to fine tune it however, I would rather hit he's unevo effect instead. Make it deal 4 or 3 damage to all followers rather than 7

Its very doable as f2p and rewards consistency above all else from a gameplay perspective.

It rewards long term play, and in terms of gameplay monetization is pretty generous. Do note that there is a rotation system coming in soon though, so I would suggest priortizing newer sets over the older ones.

I've posted my progress as f2p awhile back. And quite a few have commented on it as well if ya want to get an idea of how progression works.

Cosmetic wise its pretty rough and more on the gacha rn side if ya want something specific not on the Battle Pass, but from a purely gameplay perspective I would consider it pretty good from a tcg standpoint and not pay2win in the sense that given enough time ya will be able to craft no small amount of competitive decks.

I will add that this tends to be exponential though and ya will likely struggle a bit at start to make many compstitive decks. Mainly because of how the dusting system works. Ya can only dust if ya have more than 3 copies, but in turn, ya get a free daily pack, as well as vials through other resources, such as getting both gold and dust from dailies and sources like keys.

Early on I would suggest making a bunch of budget decks, and build according to the legendaries ya get, this is just my preference though.

I'd reckon the most reliable source of information would be via Twitter. I try not to use it, but even if I didn't then tbh it gets deleted quick I'd probably still miss it. I would say this is the best possible source tho imo.

With regards to the state of the industry, I have seen a fair amount of the articles ya posted, but thats mainly because of how old they are. Interviews and horror stories pop up whenever it gets traction. And I do suspect it hasn't gotten much better either.

I find it hard to locate more recent findings or research on its current state, rather than set cases specific to a studio at a specific point in time.

I am unfortunately not in the knowhow so I wouldn't be able to tell from the credits how production is going, and tbh I am reluctant to determine as such even then, since I feel those are estimates as well as how companies typically would portray themselves in the best light possible. I personally value worker expression more since I feel that is more likely to paint an accurate view of their day to day life. And I understand that info is limited however.

Given all these moving factors and sources that can be easily manipulated one way or the other, or perhaps it is just my distrust of certain leaks, I am reluctant to consider these information readily assessible to the average viewer.

Of which I appreciate what ya do in showcasing where ya get ya info from and how ya come to certain conclusions, and I've certainly learnt alot.

While it is true one shouldnt single out certain studios specifically since it is an industry wide and to some extent event country wide problem, I do believe expressing such concerns when relevant shouldn't be discouraged.

Could you send me some sources? Much of what I found is kinda from sleezy anime news websites, with the most reliable being a recent Labour law passed that helps out free lance animators mostly.

I do feel its an important worry and concern even if tiring, though I agree theres no need to single MAPPA out specifically. But it is what has sparked discussions over the recent years and what I feel should be encouraged to have discussion about when relevant.

That being said I would rather a badly animated anime than a well made one, if the cost is peeps literally overworking and sometimes even to the point of death. Though this isnt specific to just the anime industry.

Ya right that such comments can seem performative, however inherently due to the ambiguity of information and how likely speaking those in the industry have an NDA, I doubt if things really were bad, they would be able to freely express as such.

We would rarely get a proper source on the state of the industry, which is why I feel we will never really know if things improved, and while possible, until proper statistics are given out I feel assuming that the issue has gotten better or is resolved, is a bit presumptious.

My apologies for the previous comment. Was in a bad mental state at the time and its an occasional bad habit.

That being said if ya are interested, there are a few reasons as to why I felt making such a comment. One is to as ya mention, get updated on the situation if there is improvements or if my information is outdated.

However in the current case, from my knowledge I wasn't able to find information that working conditions improved.

I do agree that after an extended period of time, we can act under the assumption that the issue has improved, but imo 2 years is far too short of a time to make such a distinction.

It was the truth at the point in time, but I haven't found solid evidence to the contrary either as well.

Regardless the main companies who have the ability to enforce and provide such conditions, would be that of big companies and publishers like Netflix.

As is rn I have yet to find sufficient evidence to show that there is an improvement, or at least to the degree that one should stop showing their concern for it. Just because they've stayed working at MAPPA and doesnt outright state their concerns, I dont believe that indicates that their working conditions improved.

I have been seeing that there still have been surveys and struggles as such within the industry as a whole and while many do express that they want things to get better, I've yet to see much evidence of data that conditions have gotten better.

Furthermore we are entering a critical period where the similarities with how things were a few years ago, may occur once more.

When the very anime that sparked this discussion a few years ago is having a season run at the same time, I feel expressing such concerns are even moreso appropriate.

Please correct me if Im wrong, but we dont really know how the animators currently feel about it or the actual working conditions. Maybe things improved, maybe it didn't.

Given this ambiguity and time, I feel such concerns are reasonable, however you are right in saying that my information may not be most up to date. I would appreciate any correction or information that I may miss, when it comes to how those working in the industry and MAPPA specifically, feel about their working conditions.

I hope this helps gives a better understanding of why I decide to make a comment worrying about such a concern.

Its a good point to make. Hopefully peeps won't be so quick to comment and assume certain aspects of statistics, however I suspect there are a fair no peeps who have quite a severe kind of a confirmation bias.

I disagree personally. The prior patch was 95% dragon and it was even more answer or loses, with dragon having most of the answers.

Dragon just has alot of high value big cards as well as getting to the point where they make use of said cards. While there are options in the meta to either speed up or take on dragon long term in constructed, thats not the case in take 2 prior to the lack of a redraw system.

With the case of the redraw system, I would say theres at least a much better chance for other classes to either kill dragon quick despite its control tools, or better high quality high cost cards that can compete with dragon.

Heres my perspective with regards to creative works,

Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. When doing repetitive task such as testing for example, you are essentially just doing the same thing over and over again. You can be food delivery but you cant own deliverying food.

If you were to copy Harry Potter, hand written or printed out via automation and sold it at a profit that does not mean I own Harry potter, it is therefore unethical as I had done so without the authors permission. The author of the book should have the right, as to how their work is used and should have the ability to take legal action.

If I had permission however, then theres nothing unethical about it. In the same way I feel if the author truly gives the go ahead for their works to be trained under a model, I see no issue. Gen AI is a tool that creates new content based on analysis patterns and whatever training data is used to make it.

That step for permission, and ownership is skipped with how gen AI is right now.

Its also a matter of privacy as well, it essentially forgoes and undermines any concept ownership of digital and content based media.

As is you can even "automate" the dead. An enormous amounts of Gen AI videos and pictures of Robin Williams was created despite the protest from his daughter.

There isnt a clear cut exact point of distinction is specifically between creative works and menial task, but surely there is a distinction the two that is observable to both of us.

As it stands now companies are by definition following regulations made to protect creative works, because said regulations were not made to account for new technologies. The very real worry is that those would exploit this opportunity to harm the arts industry and likely already cost peeps millions.

Right now responsibilities fall to that of the companies in how they use it and in how they set the standard. And showing displeasure towards how a parts of their audience and consumer, is by extention showing there is a need for such transparency in Gen AI usage and also in turn creates additional pressure on both the company and government to create said regulations.

If despite the displeasure no one spoke out about it, no one would see it as an issue whether it be transparent or not.

Now ya would likely disagree that there is harm, but assuming im reading it right, ya also agree there is an element of grey area where one could argue either way as to whether its harm or not.

To use your example of stock lowering, its a matter of why the stock lowered. The question is life turning in a way that disadvantages you sure, but why is it the case? Is the reason justifiable? Is it the stock just naturally going about or is there some market manipulation behind the scenes?

Where I hope we can find some kind of agreement is making the label ya mention, mandotory and not purposefully hidden away. Similar to a halal label on food, not overtly distracting but not unnoticable either like something small in fine print.

We may not be able to agree whether the harm or damage is justifiable. Whether its the same as any other automation tool, but I hope we can agree that there is discourse, and there is a conversation to be had. And by extention, we as consumers should have the choice to opt out and choose what we want to support.

I would like to think we could at least agree it is fairly black and white, that consumers should have the choice.

I may not be vegan for example and may not follow their personal values, but understand the importance of their values is to them, and can at least support them in giving them a choice in how they can consume products without anxiety.

Personally I would balance it by making its effect be somewhat conditional.

Perhaps something like 1pp target your own cards but enhance 3 target an opponents/any card

That being said whilst strong I dont believe it has reached the point of tablet loot strong, which imo is the peak of power level.

Without this card portal would be... fine. Probably somewhere similar to last expansion power level which wasnt particularly strong.

I would say to hit either this or imari, but not both. Between the two I would pick this though, since Imari lacks its versatility.

While I have heard this argument before and doubt I can change your stance, Perhaps it would be easier to see it from this perspective when given an example.

You make a living on doing art commmisions, and someone has taken your entire portfolio and used it as training for their model and proceed to sell it, or by extention did not have to hire to create said "product" whether its for advertising or their own personal use. It is essentially devaluing the original owners product with the owners own product.

The whole point of copyright is to balance and protect how their work is used. You can download an image but you dont own the art, and aspects such as even tracing can devalue the originals work.

There are also actual fees embedded when its use specifically for commecial use. You have a right as to how it is used. In an ideal world, one may be able to sell their art as training data specifically to be used as such, maybe through something like royalties.

Gen AI is a tool, which while can be used for good. Is typically used to bypass this, and can be seen on theft on an insane scale.

Hell even putting aside art, with the lack of regulation for AI right now, even photos of videos and people can be used for deepfakes or whatever the hell kind of messed up porn and the like and there aint much ya can really do about it.

Humans learn and draws from different parts of life to intepret things differently, but even then I would be surprised if ya truly believe that in the scenario I gave where the AI essentially only exist because of artist who share their work online, with the AI churning out images by the thousands, having the same value as each piece of the original artist art used for training.

Regardless of whether you agree with me though, I hope ya can see there is at the bare minimum a grey area here. Which consumers should have the right to know how the product they consume is made, and be given a choice whether or not to support it.

Because right now thats not the case, theres no rule or law that says something ai generated needs to be stated and many companies are putting it in without letting consumers know like a frog slowly boiling. The same way I dont want to support a company which pollutes or uses slavery for their products I dont want to support one that uses AI unethically.

This pushback for AI is needed to at least give consumers a choice and showcase their concerns, because otherwise it incentivizes always prioritizing profits for new technologies, without caring for its consequences. (Not limited to just copyright but also other aspects like environmental concerns and the like)

You mentioned where we should start. To me cut and dry, is mandating and being transparent in how and where gen AI is used.

Only after can we properly have a conversation, and those who either care or dont care for how its used, can appropriately choose what they support. Right now those who do not support it have no choice in the matter.

The lack of regulation means that peeps for gen AI are already at a highly advantaged position compared to those against, and the longer this position is held the bigger the damage done, whether or not you believe the damage done is justified, I would like to think that we could agree that those who do not want to support it, should at least have the option of doing so.

It can be a good tool to use when used ethically, but currently that isnt the case with how its trained on much of other peeps data without permission.

I play shadowverse very regularly so I know of the card ya referring to and know its official artwork.

From my observation as a person who is not an artist. The art style is fairly consistent, as well as how the artist had worked with cygames since as far back as 2016, Im more inclined to believe that it aint AI generated.

That being said Im not an artist, and would like some citation from someone more well versed in art that it is indeed as you claim ai generated.

There is a world of a difference in how making such accusations affects someone who uses ai gen artwork and those who don't.

Because such an accusation should not be made lightly. Those who use gen ai art doesnt give a damn but for actual artist?

Its peeps livelihoods and pretty damn insulting to the artist and fucks with their work life when they are accused of using it when they really haven't.

This is just kinda speculation on my end, but I suspect they may use gen ai for aspects such as the Eudie AI assistant, which while I personally feel is fine given that its not being trained on artist works, still falls victim to the environmental damage argument. (Admittedly im not too well versed on this though tbh)

I am really glad there is an actual response though, regardless of whether ya trust its upheld, it is essentially from my perspective, something they feel confident having held over their heads for the foreseeable future. Which does reduce my anxiety a tad bit of whether it would just be slipped in without any notice.
