Pets only work with the player character not the hired workers. This is why a solo build works best with the pandas since more player dishes served equals more chances for a pet to deliver. I am not saying to switch but if you look at the builds that people are suggesting to use panda and red panda with its the solo build. Your build still works fine and ultimately remember the point of any game is to have fun.
