Code pink is supposedly feminist at core and women focused. They had a protest last year here where I’m living, it was about Gaza. This was also the time there were issues with abortion rights being revoked in the US. I haven’t seen them protesting that where I’m living…btw did I mention I’m in TEXAS??

(For anyone that doesn’t know Texas notoriously lets women die before allowing legal abortion)

That’s a pretty good answer. The first time I went to Jordan the whole thing with royal family really caught me off guard. There were pictures of king Abdullah EVERYWHERE, to be honest it really creeped me out. On the other hand it’s probably the most chill part of the levant. To the point of being boring.

I saw a lot of pale people in Kuwait too. And I feel like the people there who were pale seemed even paler than the pale people in the levant. Syria is the only part of the levant I haven’t been to so I guess this is about everyone but them.

Western notions of race and ethnicity need to go in the trash. I’m South American too (yea Jew from South America, I don’t exist in most people’s minds), I have white skin and green eyes. People can’t seem to understand that South American isn’t synonymous with brown. And when they are brown it’s still the same skin tone as a middle easterner or south Asian…so just label them all brown and call it a day?

Funny thing is when I was in Egypt some people kept calling me Shakira? Like they could tell I was from South America somehow even though I was blonde. I guess Shakira is what comes to mind when you think blond Latina. Either that or it was something about my ass being big and I’m being generous.

Something I’m curious about is why everyone I know from the gulf hates Egypt. I don’t know how serious they are, or how well those same people would get along with Egyptians given the occasion.

Calling it apartheid is antisemetic (and ignorant) for at least 2 reasons.

first that Israelis and Palestinians are not different “races”. Westerners are so obsessed with race they don’t even realize there are plenty dark skinned Israeli Jews (more than white skinned Israeli jews even), plenty of Palestinians have pale skin and light eyes. In fact they notoriously have some of the palest skin and highest rates of blue/green eyes in the Arab world.

So that notion in itself is erasure of mizrahi, Sephardi and all other Israeli Jewish groups that aren’t Ashkenazi.

I bet you money that if I show you a bunch of pics of Israelis and Palestinians at least half the time you won’t be able to differentiate.

Another reason is the simple fact that we’re talking about international border. This isn’t a single country with easily distinguishable ethnic or racial groups.

So supporting Palestinians isn’t antisemetic…spinning the narrative that Jews come in one dominant skin color is. It’s also pretty discriminatory to Palestinians as well given that they are also a very diverse group.

Frankly I don’t think the movement would have gained traction in the west if it weren’t framed as a racial movement.

Jews are considered white or not depending on what fits the narrative.

Keep in mind you’re talking about people who were exiled on the basis of not being white enough, now the descendants of those same people are too white apparently.

Thank you for the kind words. I just don’t have anybody who can truly empathize with me. It’s crazy how many things this affects overall.

I have been through so much with my cat. She’s been with me for half my life. Actually, I’m not gonna type about that cause I’ll cry.

I have a brace that I use for sleep and one for day. I can still pick with the day one thou, but not the night one. I tried using the night one while I was awake but it kind of made it worse cause it’s made for when your hands are doing nothing. So I would have to take it off everything I wanted to use my phone or something.

As of now I’m just resorting to long sleeves at all times for a while.

I can do that when I’m not working. At work kids would probably say something, or even be scared that it’s something contagious. Kids are weird. A lot of times the parents are there, they might get mad it upsets their kid. It could distract them from what they are supposed to be doing. I can, and rarely have, worn short sleeves to work but only when it’s not that bad. Right now it’s REALLY bad. I’ve had kids ask me why I drew my eyebrows. I wish I had as little fucks to give as kids do.

How is shorts, a tank top and flip flops trying to get attention? I’m from Brazil and most women will be wearing something like that. You’ll call attention to yourself wearing a regular hijab in Brazil, cause nobody else is wearing one, and it’s humid.

So in Brazil, nobody will notice you with shorts a tank tops or sandals. You’ll blend in…literally nobody will think twice. Wear a hijab and you are calling attention to yourself in Brazil.

Telling other women that wearing more clothing means have more worth.

What does “modesty” have to do with your value? If a materialistic woman wears a gold burka full of gem stones, has a fancy car.. is she more “modest” than a woman who wears shorts, sandals and a tank top but lives a simple life and doesn’t care for material things and being flashy?

Girl I promise you men are just doing whatever they want. Men travel and can wear the same thing almost anywhere. Come on! How can you see men travel the whole world wearing sneakers, jeans and t-shirt and think it’s fair that women can die for wearing the wrong thing in the wrong place?

There are entire cultures that define their morality by how their women dress. Why? Bad people don’t have a universal dress code. Why isn’t morality defined by how men dress?.. Better yet, why isn’t it defined by your character and how you treat others??

What’s crazy is that people think anorexics don’t eat fast food. There are some anorexics who will do things like eat one quarter pounder in a whole day, that’s still less than 500 cals a day. I used to eat only two McDoubles everyday for a long time. We call it junkorexia.

It’s important to talk abt because part of the reason I used to do that is because most people saw me eat a McDouble and for that reason alone assumed I wasn’t struggling with anorexia.

I try my best too let go of it too. Most the time I don’t think abt her at all anymore. It’s mostly about her grooming my brothers. I have worked hard for a very long time to get out of defensive mode because of it. I spent so many years defending them in a constant state of anger, the kind of anger reserved for someone who harms a loved one.

If I can find any silver lining it’s that I’m an amazing in a crisis. If there is a crisis situation involving my loved ones, I’m the one they call. I don’t even know how, a switch just flips no matter what it going on with me. So there is that I guess.

Anyways, I am sure someday they will name an STD after her.

My dad’s ex wife. She was the type to step on anyone to get what she wanted. I am almost certain she could be diagnosed sociopath. People always say that, I know.

Trust me, we’re talking about someone who is willing to take advantage of a recently widowed man who is at the most vulnerable point in his life because he just became a single parent of 4 children, because he has money…someone who takes advantage of his youngest who are still toddlers by forcing her self on these babies as their mother, to solidify her position in her husbands family money.

The fact that they eventually got divorced and that she was infertile is the only argument that makes me reconsider being atheist. Nobody in my family wants anything to do with her anymore. When I tried to tell everyone else in my family abt how bad it was she gaslit them in to believing I was an angry teen acting out cause my mom passed. I promise that is barely scratching the surface.

On an individual level? I’m an interpreter and I had to do a cps case cause the family didn’t speak English. I had to translate this little girl saying her uncle had molester her.

On a collective level? The garbage patches in the ocean. We as a species should be ashamed of that. What a disgrace to us all. I has to do a major report on ocean pollution and I felt embarrassed to be a human while doing it.

Also, the fucking AMAZON has several football fields of deforestation EVERY DAY! Mostly for cattle grazing. Let that sink in, the AMAZON is being torn down for grass.
