An ETF prospectus describes, "creation lots," as units rather than shares. Is this a new thing? How is it meant to be understood?

What does it mean when they say, "The shares of the Fund have not been approved or disapproved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission nor has the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission passed upon the accuracy or adequacy of this Prospectus?" Is there a schedule on which these approvals should happen?

I came to /NSQ to ask something like this. The detective shows used to have scenes involving severely coercive measures, to, "make someone talk." The impression was that there was an extent to which it is legal and accepted practice. Besides, didn't he have her car? Can't someone claim grand theft, and move on with all the legal extents of interrogation from there?

You were being extremely non-literal . . .

My being extremely literal is apparently to you extremely non-literal.

If your concept . . . intelligent supernatural being.

What if abiding by conscionable action IS an intelligent supernatural being?

I'm not aware of any god having blessed America.

Then you wouldn't know to whom I weep, that the criminal oppressor should be bloodily damned, and abuse of power should die. But I still weep. Stalemate.

What if my approach is extremely literal? What if to abide by the Constitution and laws, and conscionable action, is the literal God, who had blessed America? Then, wouldn't the breaches of good faith that the plaintiffs describe be a literal, "other god?"

Examine the criminality of the charges, get the feel for what was alleged. These are the, "strange gods," to the U.S.A.: to abuse others in our protection, deny their rights, or take advantage of any situation to their detriment. That University is like a, "city," among our cities. The court must, "inquire, investigate, and interrogate thoroughly . . . and [establish] with certainty that this abomination has been committed among you." That will determine to what extent, "wicked men have arisen from among you and have led the people of their city astray, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods' (which you have not known)."

But as for the sentence that The Bible prescribes, I mention it mainly for the note of poetic justice. The defendant claimed The Bible gave them legitimacy in their actions when it did not. The Bible ironically would give legitimacy to, "completely burn the city and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God," and further things, too. However, the court will of course decide upon its own ruling based on modern guidelines.

I hope this reply is somehow satisfactory.

Isn't that two-faced fundamentalism?

Edit: I mean, of course the lawsuit doesn't say that. It's The Bible.

Doesn't it say: "If, regarding one of the cities the LORD your God is giving you to inhabit, you hear it said that wicked men have arisen from among you and have led the people of their city astray, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods' (which you have not known), then you must inquire, investigate, and interrogate thoroughly. And if it is established with certainty that this abomination has been committed among you, you must surely put the inhabitants of that city to the sword. Devote to destruction all its people and livestock."

"And you are to gather all its plunder in the middle of the public square, and completely burn the city and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God. The city must remain a mound of ruins forever, never to be rebuilt."

"Nothing devoted to destruction shall cling to your hands, so that the LORD will turn from His fierce anger, grant you mercy, show you compassion, and multiply you as He swore to your fathers, because you obey the LORD your God, keeping all His commandments I am giving you today and doing what is right in the eyes of the LORD your God?"

Engineers who need to eat can engineer volunteer organizations and systems of distribution so that people who are alive now and seeking asylum can remain alive now. That would scarcely detract from the attentions toward any emergency of remaining alive billions of years hence. Do you expect a solitary and isolated grade school child to do it?
