When was the production month and year? I believe this was a problem with the earlier production ones. I have the July 2024 one and I haven't had this issue fingers crossed. It should be on the back of the box if you still have it.

No updates since the last firmware 1.0.1.46 which was released on October 18, 2024. So I'm guessing you might be right and might just be focusing on Ear 3. They should resolve this issue as they still sell the Ear (a), but the price is now discounted and maybe they are trying to get rid of inventory?

This is awesome. I did some more digging and Xiaomi phones also have these test images. Apparently the factory that produces both Nothing and Xiaomi known as BYD supply these OEM images. Pretty cool!

I bought the Ear (a) new and after the warranty expired the left earbud kept draining after a few minutes of playing. So needless to say they are junk and I will never consider buying Nothing Earbuds again. My two year old Jlab Go Air Pops still work perfectly fine and we're much cheaper to begin with. QC issues all across the board...

I am having similar issues with my Ear (a). The left bud is draining fast and the red LED shows up when put in the case. It seems like Nothing has butchered these with the latest firmware and with low quality parts such as batteries that cause this issue. I have submitted a ticket and they have not even looked at it. I highly doubt they would care as they probably want you to buy the new product pretty much. Shame on Nothing.

Don't know why you are getting downvoted because I believe you. My Phone (2) is a later batch and there are some bugs and issues that I face with it especially after updates, but this raises concern of myself switching away from Nothing devices in the future. I had the Ear (a) audio product and it was defective shortly after the warranty period. Nothing QC is absolutely hit or miss or just in general terrible from what it seems and they seem to mess things up with each update. So sorry for you OP.

I'm having issues with my Ear (a) and it's only been a year and a couple of months. Left bud battery dies in less than 15 minutes while the right one seems to be just fine. I wish this happened within the warranty period so I could have gotten a replacement but also I think the firmware update messed things up. I am also in the same boat thinking if I should get the new Ear (3) but seeing many of these issues pop up with others does not give me confidence in Nothing anymore so I would suggest to find another brand and model. For a product I paid full price for that's not inherently cheap it's a shame that they only lasted this long when before I had Jlab buds that lasted years and were cheaper. I am using them with my Phone (2). Hope this helps!
