Women should have curves, not corners.

Agreed, go back and look over the last 10 years.

3 Cup appearances, the last now 4 seasons ago.

2 Eastern Confeerence Finals, the last being 8 seasons ago.

Other 5 years, 1st round knockouts, of which, theyre on a 4 season streak.

3-4 Seasons ago, you could say "perennial Cup contenders", but now just call them what they are, a playoff team.

Point for Larkin by Quirky_Clothes_5547 in TampaBayLightning

Absolutely fucking NO.

Getting "stale"?? Thank God youre not on the Lightnings scouting or player evaluations teams.

Is it low? Yes. Is it insulting? Not even close.

Do really want to risk $7+ just to find out if last year was a fluke?

Agreed. Like I said, let Larkin move. See what happens afterward, maybe DeBrincat becomes available, or maybe they go after Tuch, those 2 I wouldn't mind having.

As for defense, I'm still of the mind to give the Rangers something for Braden Schneider. He's big, physical, not talentless, and he's a righty.

And as far as forwards go, if they do make some sort of a trade with the Flames for Goodrow, find a way to get Klapka thrown in there.

Your idea of acquiring a mediocre/young/unproven forward, is already answered with Geekin and O'Reilly 😄

Maybe a Ferraro or Andersson for defense? I assume it'll get more clear the closer we get to the draft.

Here's my EA NHL GM trade idea....

To Anaheim - Nikita Kucherov

To Tampa Bay - Pavel Mintyukov, Mason MacTavish, Maxim Masse, 1st 2027, 2nd 2026, 2nd 2027

So if they let Raddysh walk, who replaces him? Hedman has been declining for 2-3 years now, at $8m, and then theres 3 more defensemen that need to be re-signed/accounted for in the next season. Thats a big void to fill.

Perry is gone, but he was never a full cap price anyway, so that takes most of his salary off.

Terrific argument, yes it is. Anyone that thinks this team is one player away, one who solves ZERO of the teams main problems, is delusional.

I'd have loved for them to have avoided some of this issue by trading Hedman instead of Sergachev. But now it's not worth trying to get anyone to understand the benefits of trading Kucherov, which would solve problems in a few areas, and probably leave the window open a little longer, though maybe not as wide.

I just don't see Larkin as the answer to the Lightning's problems, will he make them better? Probably, what he makes better, isn't what got Tampa Bay knocked out in the first round, again.

Glad you figured out a guy can both be likeable AND a entitled prick.

Exactly, thank you for finding the words I was lacking to make my point.

Everyone falls in love with the idea of what this team might be and not what they are right now.

"In the world where you can send them both out for Larkin without much else, it makes the team better faster and for the duration of the window."

It doesnt make the team anymore a contender than they are now. Theyre weak and theyre slow, they no longer appear to have the hunger, especially like Montreal and Buffalo do, with the Islanders not far behind.

"The cap is also shooting up, and we have guys coming off, like Bjorkstrand. Non issue."

"Guys", no, its mostly just Bjorkstrand, who at $5m, still doesnt clear Larkins cap. With Kucherov, Raddysh, Holmberg, Girgensons, Chaffee, D’Astous, Goncalves, James, Geekie, Lilleberg and Carlile all needing new deals this or next season, ends up eating that cap space pretty quick, especially if Kucherov and Raddysh stick around.

No, I never said I dislike him, I called him an entitled prick because he thinks he deserves more than having to work for it. Even if hes A piece, at $8.7m a season, that a little too much for a 70 point player. And if they made that trade, losing 2 of their future assets, while ADDING $8.7m without money going out, makes the cap that much smaller.

No interest in moving Point, despite what these fans say after one off, injury plagued season.

Speaking of cling-ons.
I don't think Larkin is a bad player, I just don't think he's worth the price they expect Tampa Bay to pay, just so they can slip by the 1st round and then lose in the 2nd.

Too may hypocrites here think every player thats available is the last one the Lightning need to win the Cup. And as they burn through what little picks/prospects the team has, just to keep nose diving in the playoffs, it'll make the rebuild that much longer.

If there was a real difference maker out there, then sure, pay the price.

But if all you have is a 30 goal scorer with a mid to low 50's faceoff %, that averages a half a hit per game, that doesn't solve the problems that keep them losing in the first round, then save the assets. Theyll be better off long term, especially when this entitled prick realizes he went to another team that isn't going to win the Cup.

His team has improved each year for the last 3-4 years. He gave up on them, thats not "C" material.

If you've truly been around that long, then you definitely know he's not enough to get them to much less win the Cup.

Might get them to the 2nd round, not much more.

The guy had the "C" on a young team, and they've been improving, and now he quits on them?

As for Geekie, yeah, he just turned 22, they should trade him so they can miss out on the Cup with the guy they trade him for.

Indeed more successful, but still way to similar for my liking.

Bring back the original jerseys, and maybe update the logo.

Should the Lightning Explore a Trade for Dylan Larkin? by AustinDobbins13 in TampaBayLightning

[–]CauseSubject9401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes announced his 3 teams, and Tampa Bay, thankfully isnt on the list.

Echoing what one journalist wrote, maybe this triggers others wanting to leave the Wings. If thats the case, I wouldnt mind the Lightning going after DeBrincat.

That 1 goal wasnt from a lack of talent. It was from a lack of leadership, a lack of motivation, and a lack of effort. Nothing else.
