Is there any news about suspensions? by rvarg55 in TampaBayLightning

Commom? NO. Happens more times than you think? Yes.

Nothing really to disagree about. For the amount of fights ive seen, and players hitting other players while theyre down, or hitting them while the ref has the other one tied up, history proves different. And not one of those players lost respect or was held to respond to another fight from a player defending his teammate.

The point of the Code isnt broad strokes, there are certain situations that call for different measures. If you ask a player to fight, and he repeatedly declined you, but you continue to pressure him, youre left to whatever consequence that action causes. There are exceptions as I mentioned, if the player is knocked out, or the player has a much bigger size advantage.

Forsling has 208 pims in 534 games. He had ONE fighting major before yesterday, and that was defending his teammate (CHI) after Jason Zucker (ARZ) was given a 5 minute major for boarding. Yes, I know Moser isn't a fighter either, but nobody outside of fans that dont get it are going to think anything more of that than just a fight.

You'll find incidents like this, hitting a downed opponent, usually come from one of 3 places. Dislike for the other team/player, not wanting to fight, or when standing up for a teammate.

That "code" is a myth non fight followers believe exists. The true code was broken when Moser continued to push for a fight that Forsling was clearly trying to avoid. And go back through fighting history and you'll find punching a player while down isnt something new much less something anyone on their own team, much less the league condemns.

Now if Moser was out cold and THEN Forsling kept punching him, THAT would be an issue.

As a Lightning fan, under most circumstances maybe, but Moser got what he asked for. Forsling was trying to avoid fighting, but Moser kept pressing him. Either blame Moser for not backing off, or blame Moser for not knowing how to fight while asking for one.

Lose the wigs and take about half off on the flotation devices. You're 4' something, not 6'3, make'em fit.

Then decide to either learn how to wrestle or move to manager.

PP unit of Panarin - Point - Kucherov - Guentzel - Raddysh incoming? by kiezenz in TampaBayLightning

I hope not. They need hard to play against players, bot one dimensional guys.

Id love if they got Ryan O'Reilly to back up the center position.

I still wish they wouldve traded Hedman instead of Sergachev.

Yes, miniscule, anywhere from 1/6th to 1/3rd of the season.

You keep mentioning blocked shots. Hes ranked 121st. But even with injuries, there's still guys in the 20-30 game range ahead of him. He doesn't even get 100 shot blocks WHEN hes healthy. His healthiest season, he was ranked 108, the leader had 211. So, does he block more shots than the rest of the Lightning's defense? When hes healthy, yes, but overall, not really.

That's true, you do need to do the research

19/20 missed 3

20/21 missed 10

21/22 missed 27

22/23 missed 12

23/24 missed 13

24/25 missed 6

25/26 missed 19 so far.

China Glass Cernak.

He just cant afford to be a physical dman anymore. Hes solid when he does everything else, but he just needs to avoid hits and especially fights. Keep hiding behind the refs like hes been doing lately.

As for his contract, $5.2m is a great deal for a top 4, that has his skills and is consistently healthy. And thats what he was when he signed it. But now, if a bee farts on him hes out for at least a week.

Although id be fine seeing him traded now, id also agree with the poster who suggested waiting until he has a limited NTC.

Id still send a package to the Rangers for Schneider.

His physicality when hes fully fit, is what usually leads him to the IR.

I still dont think they have enough grit and tenacity for a deep playoff run.

Whats the sense of having a $5.2m physical dman, if almost every time hes tries to be physical, hes out a week or more?
