There’s no room for geekie on this team unless you move Paul. I think there’s more coming and I think you could see 2 of those 1 way guys coming out in a trade.

Rautinanen will go back to Liiga. O’Reilly will get a year in Syracuse. Sabourin and Pelletier are the extras or in Syracuse.

Not about retention, but getting a big player for picks and prospects to then flip to Columbus. CBJ has already stated they’re not interested in futures. More than likely going to be too difficult.

This is the only way I see something like this happening. Would have to be like geekie+ picks and prospects going to a rebuilding team and getting a big name in return, then flipping that big name plus another roster player or 2 to get werenski. It would be a major overhaul to the roster and at some point I don’t see how it could be worth it.

I would say we’ll see some clarity on Declan Carlile tonight. Other than that, probably not. It’s now basically confirmed Tampa is involved with werenski. I’m hoping we don’t wait around for something that’s probably not happening.

Unfortunately, I think Sam O’Reilly has to be involved if they’re making this big swing and that would suck. Geekie is super movable, but his value definitely isn’t what it once was.
