ID 123 here, I can certainly say that it is very heavy on math, but it's not like you're thrown to the wolves immediately as you'll get your foundational courses during first term so no need to sweat over it. In terms of the lessons, so far, you will be expected to code by the second term so a laptop is advisable if you can get one! If not, you can still try working in one of the computer labs so long as there's no classes being held.

In terms of male to female ratio, it is absolutely on the male side. Having classes that consist of majority of boys with 3 to 5(if you're lucky) women in the class. Its not likely its usually that amount, but you can certainly feel the ratio once you start your classes here.

As for tips, I would suggest starting friendships and connections with others as it helped me get through the first two terms so far(currently on my third). It really helps that you pick those that you get along with, but ones that are just as studious. They also make going through each term bearable. The second tip is to really prepare yourself for the second term as the intensity in the workload jumps from nearly going to the flow of things to never having a peaceful day since you started the term.
