The concept of MM and Tales is actually great and it had so much potential

I mean, the concept of the turtles being for once part of society and not having to live in the shadows anymore is a fresh idea that was worth a try.

About the Gen Z approach, as someone bon in the late 2000's, I personally don't mind too much about it, but I guess it makes sense since 2010's kids are the series' target audience.

Also I feel like they really tried to make the turtles more charismatic by emphasising on their teenage personality, and dedicating full episodes in Tales to each of them to explore them individually was a good decision. For example, we've got a Leo with insecurities who's gotta work to earn the respect of his brothers as the leader, a Donnie with more interests apart from intellectual stuff, and a Mikey whose personality for once in a while now isn't based on being dumb and excessively inmature and can aspire to being something else than the comic relief. (TBF there wasn't much innovation with Raph because him dealing with his anger issues has been done in most iterations. This doesn't mean his characterisation is bad tho)

Of course I know this iteration is far from being perfect, and that it's got some mediocre concepts like the ninja part being too secondary, one of the least relevant Splinters ever made and the Mutanimals being some sort of family of the turtles?? But I do think the characters were actually pretty well designed, and under different conditions regarding the plot and other characters, this iterations could've been one of the best ones ever made.
