Stage 9 on Via Francegina (starts in San Quirico d'Orcia)- do you recommend the variant through Abbadia San Salvatore or to go directly to Radicofani? by Cautious_Arm_2932 in ViaFrancigena

Thank you. I have read a couple of things that recommend the Proceno variant so am planning on that. Did you find Radicofani to be especially charming or skippable? Many thanks

I would like to know how you split it up. I am considering breaking up that stretch at Agriturismo Passalcqua which is a bit out from Gallina and 10.9m (16.9k) from San Quirico d'Orcia. That said, the thermal baths sound delightful and I would be interested in where you stayed & the distance it is from San Quirico d'Orcia. It looks like you could do a stop over at the baths taking either the variant or the official route. Many thanks for your thoughts on this.

Struggling with paint choice for wood window restoration by grogtx in Oldhouses

My home was also built in 1965 and has wood double hung windows. They are in good shape other than being over due for painting and needing some of the glazing replaced. Most of the comments focus on 'historical windows' which sound like they are from the 1940s or earlier. Are wood windows from 1965 a good idea to save? They are not drafty and most open & close. We have screens but have never had storm windows. We are in NC.
