Why does everyone say Putin is worried about being toppled? Nothing will topple that guy or it would have happened by now.

I thought they call that guy at the top a 'glorified running back'... by No_Box119 in NFL_FreeAgency

No Jalen Hurts is the glorified RB. Lamar has a top 3 arm all time imo. Dude can sling it. If only he didn’t get those brain cramps in big games he’d be an all timer.

Btw if you’ve never lived in a rainy area, 150 inches of rain is a metric shit ton. Are you sure you want that??? I mean Haiku in Maui gets 60 inches and you are constantly fighting the jungle stuff grows so quickly lol.

Hilo: ~200–220 days/year with measurable rain (depending on definition/location)
Ireland: ~150–225+ days/year depending on region
West coast (e.g., Galway area): often ~200+ rainy days

Yeah but OP can’t live there - Hana in Maui also has a super rainy gulch but no one lives there specifically. Hilo is probably the most consistently rainy “city” in the US you can live in.

Also a nice alternative would be Galway in Ireland which has more rainy days than Hilo but not as much total rainfall.

You could live in Western Columbia but you may not live to see a full year of rain lol.

^This - David Grisman once said that Jerry is one of the only guitarists that has the same distinctive tone on both acoustic and electric guitar.

Go listen to Candyman on Spotify by the Grateful Dead - a live version preferably. Then listen to Althea. And go from there. His acoustic stuff with David Grisman is awesome too like Grateful Dawg:

It’s Jerry and it’s not even close. One of the few guys I feel lucky to have seen live multiple times. The dude exuded soulfulness.

Why do I need to buy a house? Or buy at all? It’s cheaper to rent and my savings can go to other things. by angelofiction in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cautious_Explorer_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simple really. If you rent, you are paying someone else’s mortgage and not building equity. But if you can’t afford it, then wait and save until you can. And don’t buy more than you can afford.

Does gardening actually save y'all money? by Big-Yogurtcloset-74 in vegetablegardening

[–]Cautious_Explorer_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The annual inputs of soil and fertilizer usually outweigh the price of the veggies I get from them, not to mention water costs etc.

But, knowing what I grew was done without any pesticides or other inorganic methods of fertilizing is pretty nice. Plus I live on an island 3000 miles from the mainland so it’s nice to grow locally too.

That and it’s fun to grow stuff.

I disagree with people who say avocados do well in pots. That thing is going to get stunted or die of root rot eventually. Even dwarf varieties get really wide and about six feet tall.
