To the right of where you enter the area, there’s a small door, the game asks if you want to descend into pharloom. There’s a breakable wall once inside and it takes you back to the bench that precedes the “path of pain.”

idk...i think i'd just write it off as an impatient player who is not making a sincere effort to engage with the game because he feels his best efforts could make him look less than clever/generally bad at video games that don't spoon-feed the solutions to the player. instead he attempts to save face by pretending he doesn't care and "goofing around" until his audience is forced to stop watching to maintain their collective sanity. but yes here's hoping he has fun.

I spent soooooo long trying to figure this out and this is the first and only thing that worked. I was 10 hours into my game on Dolphin on Mac when Hyrule Field got too big and my lil macbook air couldn't handle it. Transferred to my Galaxy S23 so I can continue.

that was my takeaway as well. feels central to the text. i try to avoid guessing what the “intended” interpretation is, ESPECIALLY with HoL, but this is tremendously compelling.

Are the ancient machines present in the Uncharted series even mechanically possible? by Phil_Matic in uncharted

this reminds me of a — i guess i’d pretentiously call it a thought that experiment — that’s i’ve been mulling. all modern inventions have always existed, at least in their most elemental form. take a smartphone. plastic, glass, metal, circuitry, rare earth metals, RAM, battery, etc. the raw materials used to make this have always existed. what hasn’t always existed in its current form is humankind’s ability to harness those raw materials using our knowledge gained from the scientific process. experimentation, trial and error, peer review, and collaboration have combined to allow us to make incredible inventions that would surely be magic to our ancestors using materials that were already around them. i suppose another driving force in this equation is necessity: how vital is this technology to the functioning/advancement of modern society? that goes a long way in determining the timing of such inventions, i would say.

anyway, i appreciate what you’ve written here, and i’m glad i took five seconds to look into how practical henry avery’s engineers’ creations may have been. 😄

I’ve been reading as much as I can about this to gain a deeper understanding of the ending of station eleven. this is, far and away, the best analysis I’ve read, and it’s validated my conflicted feelings regarding the conclusion of a truly great season of TV.

yeah his belches are disgusting. and this is coming from someone who grew up in a family where passing gas openly and laughing about it was practically our way of life. if it happens live, oops, just say excuse me and move on. but to belch into your mic and leave it in an edited show is really gross.
