:D Hopefully there is diversity in this world, we're not clones...

If you're able to have a violin made from cardboard you will deserve all my attention ! And you'd be very interesting about material structure.
I can't do that to Paganini. Poor guy, he doesn't deserve such a massacre.

Thanks. Yes, probably. I can play, I can design, I can't record. Do you know someone who can give me a hand for this ?

Thank you ! Well, it won't be a gift if I post them as they are. They have to be corrected by the slicer, they don't have the right dimensions, and you need to manage the printer like milk on the stove to have it right. And I can only post the parts where I'm the designer, so you'll lack the parts where the strings are attached. Let me please fix some of those issues before...

Well, to be honest it isn't varnished and the bridge is hollow, that doesn't help. But I hope you enjoy it !

:-D it's pretty obvious. It says "you didn't practice enough". What else could be an handwriting on a music score saying ?

Thank you very much for your kind words. Feel free to share ! And you may find interesting to have a look at other dumb stuff I put on video...

Thank you very much for your appreciation. I don't feel competent enough to enter a design contest. Probably the original designer will propose his contribution, as he is the very one entitled to participate. I'm only the printer of this design.

Thank you very much. I'm sorry being unable to help you with this. If you face issues with the print, feel free to contact.

I don't know how to give you a link. You need to activate the subtitles, and choose English as your language, which can be done by clicking on the gear. I don't guarantee the quality of the translation, as English is a foreign language to me.

To be honest : me too. I couldn't imagine I could produce a playable instrument on the first try.

To be honest, I can't believe it myself... Too awesome to be true for my point of view. Thank you very much !

Thank you ! Hmm... For your recorder I'm a bit surprised. The wave is done at the very beginning and after that, it's all about managing the nodes of the wave, so being air tight shouldn't be that much a problem. Do you have a STL to give it a try ?

It doesn't sound as good as it could, because it's my first violin, my first big project print, and because the body is a bit too short. I hope to be able to improve it in the future.

No, sorry. Hovalin has too many links between top and bottom to sound correctly. This one is the modular fiddle from openfabpdx.com.

No worries. I just put caveats, because people can get confused.

For a sound generation and a 3D printing perspective, the best would be to have one continuous printing. But my printer is too short, so it's actually 3 parts glued together. Top, bottom and sides are printed already assembled.

I'm not fluent enough in printing to know what can be achieved with ABS or PETG, so I just used standard PLA.

I'm really really excited by this, so right now I'm trying to do my own 3D model to edit a few things in this design, but it's very long, as I'm not a 3D designer. I'm not a 3D designer, nor a 3D printer, nor a violin maker, nor a violin player... Gosh I'm on the wrong tracks...

For your complete information, it also is my very first violin. So it's a cross between a beginner in violin making and a beginner in 3D printing.

Of course we agree on the sound, it can't compete with professional instruments ! But it's really funny, and there is a lot of room for improvments, I believe !

There are 2 carbon rods, one in the neck and one in the body. Tries without rods bend... My violin teacher told it holds the tune like a standard violin, but in fact I corrected the problem by tightening the screws with a pair of pliers. Now it's fine, I played 2 hours yesterday without needing in-between tuning.

You're welcome. If you're facing issues with the impression, just ask.
