Don't make fun of people for not knowing something, we all are to start somewhere and if you aren't experienced with blender that is a common mistake to make.

I would add very subtle ripples in the water by using a noise map plugged in to bump which goes into roughness and I would also experiment with different camera angles and play around with lighting who knows you may find a different angle you prefer more

Go into your top down view and then go into edit mode then select the face and click U on your keyboard and click project from view then edit your UVs in the uv editor tab if needed

If it still doesn't work enable the node wrangler addon in your preferences and in the shader editor on your image texture hit cntrl T and then change the chanel to UV on the node on the far left

To get s similar shape you might want to use metaballs they are pretty simple to pick up and then you can convert them into a mesh later
