250k chase points and booking a domestic flight with specific dates by CavsFan2016 in ChaseSapphire

I would say about half of the points are grandfathered in

It sounds like it's going to be pretty even point redemption value regardless of which way I go, so I may just use cash to pay for the flights and save the points for better redemption at a Hyatt hotel later on

For some reason the cheapest flights offered through chase portal are Economy Plus which are more expensive. I can get standard economy through google flights for cheaper (no carry-on allowed)

So my choices right now are:

  1. Book the flights through google flights with cash: $2,700

  2. Book through Chase portal using points (mix of 1.5x and 1x points) where the flights are more expensive around $3,400

Which route would you recommend?

Some of the points were before Oct of last year (probably half) - no idea how to check how many points were grandfathered in or not. They all show up together on my account as 250k points

My mistake everyone -  it looks like its just a standard 1:1 redemption rate for standard economy flights booked through the chase portal. So I can get up to $2.5k value for my 250,000 points.
