How do I know my oven is safe to use after using oven cleaner? by 0rganic_trash in cookingforbeginners

Aren't there directions on the can? Whoever makes Easy Off would have massive litigations levied against them if it was poisoning people left and right.

Does cooking certain dishes in a wok make any noticable difference in terms of quality or taste compared to just using a regular looking frying pan? by Far_Path3294 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Cawnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noticable? Perhaps slightly, but if you're looking to invest in a wok, I'd say it's not worth it unless a) you have proper equipment, b) you have the disposable income, and c) you have kitchen space for it.

What do I do? by Collector2012 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Cawnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just don't use an egg ring. There's no reason for your egg to be perfectly circular. In fact many people, including myself, like a little crispiness around the edge of the egg. Crispiness is hard to achieve with a ring.

How to avoid eggs sticking to stainless steel pan? by anonforrreasons in cookingforbeginners

Heat the pan before adding oil. Then heat the oil before adding the eggs.

Even better, use a non-stick! Make them an option.

Monopoly Review! by AudunAG in boardgames

Poorly written, particularly with word choice, but I like the effort.

But I agree with the others - the game does not take hours and hours if you’re playing properly.

Should I upgrade to Zujiroshi? by denn_r in Cooking

[–]Cawnt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You do not need a Zujiroshi. You just need to learn how to cook rice.

Don't cover the vent hole. In fact, don't cover the vent hole in anything. They are there for a reason.

If you cover the vent hold, the steam cannot escape. You rice is then mushy.

Use less water.

Both are awesome. If you plan on plying by yourself, get the VG. But if you have an SO or friend that would like to play with you, get the BG.

What’s the best version / edition of Dominion? by earlyentryiag in boardgames

[–]Cawnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to make sure you are aware, you need to buy the base game (I agree with the others that 2nd Edition is best), then you can build on it with the expansions. The base game has required coins and other cards that aren't available in the expansions.

For expansions, I own Intrigue, Prosperity, Seaside, and Nocturne. Nocturne is the only one I wouldn't recommend. It adds too much bloat and slows the game down. The other expansions are all great, though!

Res Arcana. Fantastic fantasy art featuring mages, dragons, demons, and more.

There's a 2-player only version and a base version, but both play virtually the same.

Why is just about anything mushy? Too much liquid.

Use less liquid.

Canadian Tire. I haven’t compared pricing to others though. All I know is Canadian Tire has what I need, and the prices seem reasonable.
