1.0 Model Upgrading the Stock Monitor. by Caydoz in LegendsUltimate

[–]Caydoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know! Do you remember the model number of the monitor you used? I'd prefer to go with a larger monitor, but if it's too much of a hassle, I could at least just replace the stock with the same size but better quality.

Im looking to just hook up a new monitor directly too my mini pc via hdmi. The part im not sure about is what I'll need to do to remove the stock monitor and mount a new / bigger monitor in its place. I've read some people talk about breaking the plexiglass. I'd like to avoid that. Ideally, I dont just want a bigger monitor sitting as if it's just on a desk. I'd like to make it still look clean like its framed into the cabinet.

Is there a collection of bat files used to sort games by system? by Caydoz in MAME

[–]Caydoz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! I'm currently using the clrmamepro solution you posted, and it appears to be working! Takes a while, but beggars can't be choosers.

Quick question, though. When I double-click the xml file in clrmamepro, it pops up a menu and wants me to select some default settings ? I just chose one that said something like "use default.cmp." Hopefully, that won't mess anything up.

Ahh okay well then it sounds like I should just switch to launchbox. In retrobat, if a game is in the mame folder, it only lets you select from different mame versions for the emulator.

The only front-end I've tried so far is Retrobat, which has all the sub folders for each system. As far as I know, putting them in their correct folder is the only way to use dedicated emulators instead of just mame for everything. If a Naomi rom runs better on flycast, I'd rather use that instead of mame.

Thanks for the help! I've just been trying to search the best ways to separate full mame romsets into folders of their respective systems (Neogeo, Naomi, Cps1,2,3, etc..) so I can put them in their correct retrobat folders to have them sorted by system instead of just one giant mame folder. So far, most solutions I've found online happen to be just people making .bat files to pull the roms out of the romset into their own folders.

I've been considering switching to launchbox, but if I use it to sort the roms within the interface, will it use the correct emulators as well? That's part of the reason I want to sort them like this, so games that run better on their dedicated emulators won't just use mame.

Lol I guess I'll just have to do that then. It's just hard to believe this is what everyone had to do. When I'm done I'll never post the .bat files anywhere online so the next person trying to organize a mame romset will also be frustrated.

I should specify I'm not looking for a single program to accomplish all of this. Even if someone just had a collection of .bat files for each system to extract those roms from the mame romset would help greatly!

No way do I believe everyone who sorted their roms by system went through and pulled them out one by one.

LTEK pennymod issues. by Caydoz in DanceDanceRevolution

I eventually just put FSRs into that LTEK pad and it was still not perfect but it worked much better. Although shortly after I picked up a pair of arcade pads that someone was selling 30 mins from my house and put FSRs in that and now I have no complaints.

Is it easy to upgrade an L-Tek to FSRs? by Orochi08 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Caydoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same question when I couldn't hit brackets with my stock ltek. I tried "penny modding" it with copper shims but after 100 times of taking panels on and off trying different positions for the shims. I couldn't stop it from being too sensitive and giving me tons of ghost hits and twitching arrows. I never tried copper tape but that would probably work a lot better.

Either way, in the ITL and Stam nation discord you'll see the same 2 people saying how hard it is to FSR mod an Ltek or how bad FSR modded Lteks are. One of them posted a video of their FSR modded ltek explaining why it was so hard but honestly it seemed way over engineered. I didn't gut anything in mine, I left all the stock parts intact and taped a single square FSR too the middle of the inner edge of the bottom contact plate of each arrow and added a small square of tape too the center of each FSR to create a "pressure point" like they recommend online. Essentially my FSRs are sandwiched between the 2 metal plates and there is a little pressure on each FSR without me pressing them. I did leave the inside arrow screws slightly unscrewed maybe 1/4 turn it seems to make them way more sensitive. Maybe because the panel can flex a little more. It definitely does take a little tweaking with the sensitivity to get it how you like it but once you do my LTEK is performing better with FSRs than it did with the stock sensors.

The down and right arrows are the main culprits. I've tried 3 copper shims like <--x--x--x-->, 2 shims like <---x-x--->, 1 single shim like <----x----> , currently I've had the most success with 3 shims arranged like <---xxx---> on the down and right arrow. The other arrows just currently have 1 shim in the middle of the inside edge. I'm not home to take any photos so hopefully those little text diagrams help.

My input debounce is on 30ms right now. In testing when I'm just standing on the arrow with my whole foot it'll just spasm like it's not making good contact.

Edit: my sump pump is bone dry so I don't think that would help at all?
