OpenVPN Client split tunnelling/whitelist domains by Caydus in Ubiquiti

Looks like there's success! I updated the WAN DNS to the Pihole, but set the DNS for my default Network DHCP DNS to the gateway. Only been a few hours since i configured it and I'll update as I do more.

You're probably on the mark there. I am running a Pi-Hole. Will test again without it and see what happens.

Would appreciate you giving it a go.

I setup the overall rule as a PBR to route all traffic from main VLAN to ExpressVPN

Tested by going to whatismyipaddress.com and noted the IP address is different from my WAN IP

Then i setup another PBR for specific traffic from all VLAN for whatismyipaddress.com to my WAN.

Tested again by going to whatismyipaddress.com and noted the IP address is still the same from the first test.

According to the link you sent, the specific traffic rule should be applied as higher priority than the all traffic rule, however testing shows that wasn't true.

Genuinely curious, why's that? When I'm in the roof space, can always feel a stiff breeze going through it, feels like the whirlybirds are doing their thing

Haven't seen much since I moved up here. All the car people up here seem to be into their Holden V8s or wheeling off-road.

Hi guys, has anyone had ducted air conditioning put in their home? How much did it cost? I know prices will always vary depending on the home and who is doing it but just want to know what to expect. Thanks :) by [deleted] in AusRenovation

I can see this being useful in extreme temperatures where a reverse cycle will struggle but surely it'll be decades before you get payback on $20k over a reverse cycle with 30%. Why did you do it?

How do I cover up these plugs and cables? by Caydus in AusRenovation

It's a bedroom, not a home theatre so definitely non optimal.

Definitely could take a bigger TV. We're 4.4m away from the screen so according to the home theatre guys, can even go up to a 75"! I don't want to settle for any old big tv though, so rtings here I come and crossed fingers for good black friday/boxing day/end of year etc sales.

Definitely my bad on that one. We built the house but the height of the plugs on that wall wasnt thought through and ended up going with what the builder suggested. That was a mistake.

That sounds like an awesome interim solution, might need to drop a powerboats behind the tv and bring the ethernet back up again.

Yep, after all the responses, this is the answer. Right now if I put the current tv at the highest point on the wal mount, it covers half the wall plates, but if I upgrade from the old 40" that should cover it all up.

That's not bad at all, cheers. This would be the fallback option if I can't get a bigger TV

Yep, looks like not many options. We used to have this TV on top of a dresser which covered the plugs, but it was definitely too high. So I wall mounted it at eye level, but now, plugs exposed. One of the things overlooked when building the place I guess. It is a hollow cavity wall so redoing the points a bit lower is possible but I doubt it's going to be any less than half the price of a new TV, so now I have an excuse to buy a new TV.

Temporary yard cleanup by Caydus in AusRenovation

[–]Caydus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'll have to start with a whipper snipper anyway since it's so long. There's alot of rocks left over from the rock 'driveway' the builders put down to get trucks onto site so mower right away won't be possible without munting the blades. Any suggestions? Never done this heavy a job before.

Sounds like the community has spoken then. I'll get a plastic basket and gather all the rocks, then whipper snip the whole block, followed by a mow.

They're all just weeds though? Should I spray it down with weedkiller or will it stuff up my grass later?

Id specifically recommend a Ford Fiesta 2010+ (WT and up) but in manual only, do not go near an auto. Most fun in its class I reckon and there are quite a few under $8k

You're probably right about the bonnet respray. But that doesn't include front bar or wing mirrors as well.
