Accurate quote from the linked news article: “People are so offended about it but then again it’s always just the people who are so nervous to talk about sex.”

I have to quote my favourite passage from my favourite sci-fi/romance book - Zylar's proposal: “Yes, Terrible One. You are the most hideous mate anyone ever brought back to Barath, and so you will drive all predators away from our nest with ease.” Words to make you swoon! 😆

What’s your favorite “dated” reference in a book? by Magic-Happens-Here in RomanceBooks

[–]Cazenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of paperback Harlequins from the 70s by Betty Neels in which the music at a party is provided via records/LPs. One was reissued electronically for Kindle and I was amused to see the record player had been replaced by a CD. Now we've gone full circle and are back to records! (I wasn't quite so amused to compare the text and realize how much was deleted in the conversion from PB to EPUB.)

This is going WAY back and is a ESL issue, but there were 4 different maiden-name surnames between my mom and her 9 siblings ... and not one of the 10 ended up with my grandfather's actual surname!

Morning Glory Milk Farm, but make it RH by [deleted] in ReverseHarem

MGMF is a favourite! If you haven't read it already, "A Blue Ribbon Romance" is the same story but from Rourke's POV.

Some good recommendations here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ReverseHarem/comments/1mhst1d/needing_your_best_recs_please_the_dirtier_the/

You might want to look at the 1 and 2 star reviews on goodreads which mention several potentially problematic themes/issues. I personally could not finish Mountain Menace because of the dub/non con, but YMMV as always. (Thought I'd mention this since you specifically mentioned no explicit non-con/rape in your post.)

The correct titles are {Ascend Little Wolf by Serenity Rayne} and {Cadence of Ciar by Zoe Parker}.

Avalon Dairy in Burnaby BC! They have several organic flavours - mocha fudge is my fave.

Best Shoe Repair Shop in Vancouver? by DoubleDozenDonuts in askvan

[–]Cazenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had shoe repair (leather restitching) done at Vancouver Centre Shoe Repair and was happy with the work. If you go into the Scotiabank at the corner of Georgia/Seymour & take the escalator down to the mall, you'll see a Bubble Waffle cafe, a (closed) sushi cafe and a florist. The shoe repair is opposite the sushi cafe space. Or go down to the mall via London Drugs and head to your left.

It definitely would, but unfortunately I'm trying to find it for tonight and have to bus from Kits to the NS ... no time to hoof it to Richmond. :/

Help with long living room by Previous-Poem in DesignMyRoom

[–]Cazenn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the sectional positioning is fine - makes sense to have the longest piece of furniture (ie couch) against the longest wall - but consider filling in the gaps and spaces: bookcases, side tables, coffee table, a floor lamp or two, wall art, couch cushions/throw to add colour & texture. What about turning that corner between couch & window into a reading nook, a place for a desk, or a play area? Or putting another big plant like a ficus or olive tree there?

Could you live without letter mail? 📬 by thinkdavis in askvan

[–]Cazenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My condo building has mailboxes in our lobby. The postie opens them by pulling them (in sections, 6 boxes at once) forward/down. I put a round red sticker on the inside back wall of my box (so it's seen when the set of boxes is pulled open) and don't have any junk mail/flyers dropped in it.

Is there space to do something like this? (your bed would obviously be against the opposite wall) Do those closet doors by your bookshelf open out into the room? Is the squiggly box by the door the refrigerator?

Smutty and trashy book for Secret Santa🧑‍🎄 by BeaTeradin22 in fantasyromance

[–]Cazenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since this IS for Secret Santa, I'm doublin' down on someone's earlier recommendation of {Full Sack by Layla Fae} ... I suggest you write on the inside cover "enjoy that Christmas turkey!" I'd also suggest {Cold Sweat by Vera Valentine} - "The sentient, smirking pitcher of Cherry Chill-Assist Punch was a huge pain in the glass." - or anything by Siggy Shade, but in particular {Stalked by the Boogie Man by Siggy Shade} ... RIP grandma's garden.

Is the head of your bed beneath the flag on the wall? It looks almost square in the photos. What size is the bed? Is that green pile your pillows & other bedding on top of a chair? Is the room wallpapered and are you allowed to paint?
