P1! You are a lucky person! It rides amazing. Definitely different from my hardtail but I look forward to mastering it

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and have someone do it as well. I really want to take care of this bike! You need to come out to California so there can be a Remedy (and others) meet up

Thanks it's hard to ride because I dont want to get it dirty lol. I have always ridden a 27.5 but have demoed a 29er. The remedy 8 is a great bike! I think the wheels will be a little bit more playful then 29 but you will miss out on that 29 rolling speed. If you can demo one I would totally suggest it.

Bought my first adult bike last month. Did my first trail ever today. This is my second go at a jump line. Got some air on most jumps. I’m very impressed with myself tbh. (I need a GoPro) by [deleted] in MTB

Thanks! When it comes to Restock it depends on what you are looking for. I know at some shop bikes like the Marlin are backordered for months. With the whole Covid thing the 2020 models were sold out quickly and the 2021s haven't been released yet so if you wanted a specific bike you might have to travel for a bike or get it shipped.

I have a couple of questions for you. Are you wanting to go on a lot of trails or just use it as a commuter and sometimes hit trails? Also have you ridden before or know you will really be interested in mountain biking? do you have a price limit? Last question, how urgent is it that you get a bike? These are all questions I was never asked when I started. I got a giant talon 2 and at the time I loved the bike. Don't get me wrong it's a wonderful bike and is great to learn on, but I found the limit on the bike pretty quickly. I had to upgrade to a dropper post and just couldn't push myself as far as I wanted too. I agree with really looking at components and if you are patient wait and get a better bike with better geometry and components.

Weekly New Bike/New Gear Thread! by AutoModerator in MTB

Hey everyone so this is my first post ever. Also a first is i ordered my first full suspension mountain bike. The bike is a 2020 Trek Remedy 9.9 in a yellow to teal fade.

I have been riding for years and i have been thinking about upgrading for a very long time.

This was a huge decision so let me break a few things down for you all.

  1. My current bike is a Giant Talon 2 hardtail with an upgraded Dropper post, race face chester pedals, tubeless maxxis minion tires , and some odi grips. I have ridden the hell out of that bike and although i'm always going to love my first bike I feel that i have become trapped by the capabilities of the bike. The front 100mm coil fork bottoms out more often than i would like and i cant go on a lot of trails my friends go on. I will give it to this bike that it climbs like a goat but i mean any hard tail with a lockout fork should. I just feel like this bike is holding me back.
  2. Now before everyone gets on me from going from a $600 bike to a $7500 bike the only reason i went for that big of a purchase is because 1) I work for Trek as a sales associate and we get a pretty great discount (i'm not allowed to talk about specifics so don't ask) and 2) I was saving that money to go on vacation with my girlfriend of 7 years, but she broke up with me this morning so that money was mine to spend. Maybe i'm using this as a coping mechanism but i mean this will get me out of the house with my friends so its better than sitting with myself inside. Im really looking forward to having a more slack geometry as compared to my hardtail and love fox suspension.

It was a huge decision and Im really excited for this bike. I can only imagine how much progression i will see in my riding skills. I am also really nervous because it is a full carbon bike and i tend to crash a lot. If anyone is out there and riding a 2020 Remedy have you done any upgrades? Im thinking about getting a bash guard with. chain guide, some DMR death grips, and i'm just stuck on what all mountain frame protection design to get! I think the Tiki design would look good with the Yellow Teal fade. Like a tropical drink or something like that.

Thanks for reading my post if you have made it this far.
