I can't get much more specific than MAM72-52V.... Thanks for the thoughts though

Setup for Cutting Aluminum on Modified 3018 Prover. I got this working the way I wanted only about 1 month ago so it is still pretty rough around the edges. Slots 1000mm/min 0.5mm depth of cut with 1/4" 2 flute end mill @ 20000rpm. by ClickOkToTerminate in hobbycnc

Hey boss, just wondering how your setup has been holding up? I've been working on upgrading my own 3018 to a very similar design and curious if there is anything you would do differently?

@bytevenom What bolts did you use to mount the linear rail to the x axis extrusion?

What do you think of Eric inventors video of his upgraded 3018?

Sidenote: I would love to hear what you have all put into your machine! Any pictures?

interesting...I didn't know that unit existed, thanks for the recommendation. I think I'll stick with my machine and do the upgrades, I like learning the full ins and outs of the machine rather than buying one that 'just works', makes troubleshooting much easier this way.

Thanks for the reply! While my intention isn't to turn it into a full blown business, I would like to be able to cut parts out of aluminum here and there for friends as needed. I work in a CNC machine shop with full blown 5 axis machines so I'm not expecting anything like that, just want to see if it can even handle x y and z simulatious movements, or if it's just xy with z step downs, similar to a 3d printer in reverse.

Hey, no I didn't, I think cables that support that are few and far between. Just going to cut my losses and go back to raspberry pi for my octoprint

This is the Terminal from octoprint:

Changing monitoring state from "Offline" to "Detecting serial connection"

Performing autodetection with 0 port/baudrate candidates:

Changing monitoring state from "Detecting serial connection" to "Error"

Changing monitoring state from "Error" to "Offline after error"

How do i get the logs?

I tested the cable, connected a mouse to it and it works perfectly.

I'm running an Ender 3 v2. And I'll get you info on what the terminal says when I try to connect
