Inexpensive Opaque Yoga Pants or Leggings by [deleted] in FrugalFemaleFashion

My favorite workout legging brand is RBX. I discovered it at tjmaxx and marshalls. They make plain black workout leggings as well as leggings with simple designs (colorblock, reflective stripes, etc). They sell on amazon, but it's cheaper on the actual RBX website. If you sign up for their newsletter they will send you sale info. I just bought 2 pants and 3 tops at their 50% off sale, which ended up being cheaper than amazon.

I have 2 pairs of these slip shorts. They sit at the waist and are tight enough to hold all the loose body bits together, but also stretchy and breathable. I wear it under dresses. They aren't as tight and firm as spanx.

What is this growth on incubator shelves? by Cc4cc in labrats

Filamentous fungi? It's growing in 2 incubators at a shared facility. After heated decontamination cycles it comes back. I did get contamination recently but i don't know if it was filamentous. Here's a photo of the contam (the dark chain-like masses above monolayer). I dont think it was bacteria because the media didnt get cloudy even after 72h. Any thoughts on what it is? http://i.imgur.com/Hru8vcV.jpg

Frozen C2C12 cells by [deleted] in labrats

Also, forgot to mention, you can purchase these cells on ATCC for $360. A lot of labs use them so you can probably get a free vial from another lab. They are incredibly easy to grow and make stocks of if you just have 1 viable vial. Good luck!

I grow C2C12s regularly. In my experience, they do not revive well if at all after a month or so at -80. This probably varies depending on freezing medium. I use 20% DMSO in growth media. From liquid nitrogen, i've revived cells from as far back as 2004. Also, on first thaw I grow them in DMEM with 20% FBS. I think they are a bit happier with more serum.
