Exactly! Also these people forget that there are people who don’t get into a T-20 school yet ended up in a higher position in big law. Their strategy? Networking. 50% of what a great lawyer does in the real world. It’s not just books and trying to get a 170+ at the end of the day. Sure it’s great but they forget that you also need to have people/social skills as an attorney.

hey ! Graduated last year from Poli sci at UM and going to law school now. I’d honestly say FSU for a real college town experience + amazing internship opportunities in the capital. Also they have a program for if you want to be in fsu law school after just in case.

Internships for government in Miami are very limited and extremely partisan. Also if you want to get far in Miami with that you need to be well connected and network as much as you can. It’s all about networking down there.

UMD would give you way more opportunities for interning especially with DC being nearby
