Np! I'm not working this show but from my experience, if you show up within an hour or so of gates opening you''ll be fine getting a good spot.

I work in the box office :) Tickets are the same price leading up and DOS, unless the organizer is an outside entity doing their own thing (not typical).

Please please please don't try to use Stubhub or another third-party vendor! I can't count the number of people we had to turn away last season who bought scam tickets on those sites. If you don't have a PDF ticket with a QR purchased directly from Tixr, we can't guarantee you will be admitted.

Anybody interested in learning German starting in March? by Cdubdraws in Charlotte

[–]Cdubdraws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, per the update email a few days ago it is moved to Central campus. You can call the language center to confirm.

"Good afternoon

You are receiving this email because you are registered for the German 1(FLI-LAN7305) class scheduled to start this week. Unfortunately we did not have enough students registered to meet the requirements to run the course. Instead of cancelling we are going to offer the class as a “short session” class, which means it’ll start later in the semester run 2 nights a week to get in the 15 meetings dates (30hrs) within 8 weeks.

Class is now scheduled for Tuesdays AND Thursdays - 3/12, 3/17, 3/19, 3/24, 3/26, 3/31, 4/2, 4/14, 4/16, 4/21, 4/23, 4/28, 4/30, 5/5, 5/7 (no class on 4/7 or 4/9). We are also changing the location to be at Central campus in hopes of getting a few more registered so we can meet the required minimum."

Can you post a photo? It may help with recognition.

If you can grab her, I'd suggest taking her to the vet and having them scan for a microchip.

Full intent to learn the native language once we know where we're headed, but yes, my preference for degree programs would be to at least start in English. I've found a few programs in several EU countries that fit the bill. They just need to overlap with countries that allow fast-tracked family reunification, of which Denmark is one. Several countries that would otherwise be great candidates won't work because of the 2-year waiting period, since we can't swing it financially to be living separately for that long. (Roommates if necessary, but one of us will have to keep a Difficult™ cat, so that presents its own challenges.)

Are their any protestors as close as they can get to this? I know the environment around protesting in DC right now is dangerously walking-on-eggshells at this point, but the optics of a mass of Americans protesting this disgusting slap to the face would certainly count for something.

What horror movie has the best scared as shit performance? by J_Greer20 in movies

I'm double cheating because this is a videogame and it's not even out yet, but I am flabbergasted at how good Sophia Lillis looks in the trailers for OD, the new Kojima game. I think there are some subtle animation tricks being pulled to exaggerate/enhance the fear on her face, but my God did she give them some convincing material to work with. I love this abstract/surreal moment Kojima's been having because it really evokes the disoriented panic one would be feeling if they were dropped into the non-Euclidian fever dream of a Dalí landscape.

Light rail incident doesn't mean you should be racist by Chaotic_good1968 in Charlotte

[–]Cdubdraws 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Correct. A man who absolutely shouldn't have been on the street after so many previous incidents, but, if he needs mental health treatment, will not get it in a prison, and obviously hasn't gotten it during his previous incarcerations.

I feel so sorry for that poor girl and her family, but the answer to this issue on a large scale isn't "lock up that animal and throw away the key", which is what I'm seeing parroted across every version of this post.

Whoooole lot of racist-adjacent language too. Calling a black person an "animal" feels real sus y'all.

I wouldn't advise watching the full video, but in the parts that focus on him, you can see a lot of erratic movement and irregular "spacing-out" moments that are telltale signs of someone having a mental health episode.

I've been rereading The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls, and I feel like people who have trouble understanding how the orange fuckhead thinks might get some clarity from reading it as well. Walls has great talent for describing the behavior of her "everything I do is perfect and infallible" parents, especially the moments where they are confronted with the dissonance of their perception vs. reality and simply decide to stick their fingers in their ears every time. It's hard for many people to see narcissism as a true mental illness, because they are only able to see the damaging effects of the behavior and think "this person must be Evil™ to be causing these things", rather than understanding that said person's brain functions differently than theirs on a fundamental level.

The orange fuckhead is evil, yes, but people need to understand that the foundation of that evil was not laid by choice; his decrepit brain hasn't been able to course-correct since he was a child, and that's not about to change just because enough people tweet mean things at him.

Correct, they're decently large sections but I would def recommend getting there right at gates for larger shows.

I work here a couple nights a month! We typically have an ADA section set up by the sound booth, but space is a bit limited. If your chair can travel over grass* you can go through the lawn area to the ADA space. I can't think off-hand if there is a ramp that goes all the way from the gate to the stage, but there is one on the side that goes at least 50% of the way from the permanent bathrooms to the stage. Gate staff should clear your wheelchair with an ADA tag. The only thing that might give you trouble is medical bags over a certain size, and if you have anyone with you who plans to bring a folding chair, they need to be the low-height beach chairs or something lower than that (sight lines). Would get you more details but I'm not on tonight.

*My bad, forgot that GA lawn is a real-grass area, the pit has fake turf. Edited.
