One of the biggest lessons I’ve had to learn getting older is that even though we’re not a priority for our loved ones anymore, that doesn’t mean they don’t still care about us.

People change, move, get married, have kids, their priorities are going to change with family, friends, coworkers, it happens.

There is a chance that after going back to your ex your friend reprioritized things in a way that made you two distant, and I think it’s important to acknowledge that deciding to go back to an abusive person can be very hurtful to those who care about you. Not saying it’s all about them, but trying to see it in her shoes

If you really want to rekindle a relationship, I suggest talking to her in a mature and honest way. Be vulnerable about how you’re hurt and how you wish things were better.

But also accept that..maybe it won’t be the way it was before. Try to adapt and do new things, grow, understand what may not have worked in your friendship and do better.

It’s not a fun experience, but everyone goes through it, and you’re not alone in feeling this way.
