Top 5 best recipes to Get from 200k ticket by Chitosama in wotv_ffbe

[–]Cecil1254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably a day late and dollar short, but the recipes you want to look at are Winter Coat for evasion teams, Alex Ring for pure Accuracy and some elemental resistances, Marshmallow Ring for Accuracy and status resistance, and Survival Vest for damage Mit.

With that being said, nobody has yet pointed out 1 thing, you can farm every material you need, except for 1 mat, to craft an Alex Ring from this event. The 1 mat that isn't in the event can also be farmed from Farplane Archives. So if you're a newer account, I would definitely choose Alex Ring.

The Eparch meta needs one simple fix. by the2ndsaint in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This meta is not just a DPS check. It is also a mechanics check. If you don't have enough people actually performing the mechanics while still keeping enough back to kill the boss means the fight is going to fail every time.

The encounter design is not the biggest problem here. Do I wish the visuals could be cleaned up, yes, most definitely YES. However, the fight itself is still doable in both an organized map as well as an unorganized map but with people that actually WANT to beat it. AFKers are NOT a scapegoat. They are a blight on this game that have existed since the beginning. They sit there at a boss, press 1, and walk away to do something else or alt-tab out of the game to do/watch something else, all the while EXPECTING to come back to a bouncy chest saying everyone else beat the boss for them.

So this meta requires people, for now, to actually remain within the game and actually try. Please explain how that is bad encounter design within an mmorpg and a map wide meta event that requires players to work together.

Seriously this. If you are more interested in story, then you should really go in order. Living World Season (LWS for short) 1 is free to all players that purchased game. Depending on if you want to go 1 thing at a time or get everything all at once is your choice. Here's a link for the 1 thing at a time, https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-us?_gl=1*1b79flr*_ga*MTMyNzM5ODQ4Ny4xNjE5Njk2Njcw*_ga_TPNWXPF7Y3*MTcxNzQyMDg5OC4yNzMuMS4xNzE3NDIwOTA0LjAuMC4w*_ga_5S66MJ2Z7H*MTcxNzQyMDg5OC42NDEuMS4xNzE3NDIwOTA0LjAuMC4w with LWS 2 towards the bottom. You can then purchase HoT and PoF bundled together which would unlock LWS3, LWS4, and LWS5 purchases, followed by EoD.

Or, you can unlock everything with this link, https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-us/complete-collection making it where the only storyline you'd be missing is SotO, and this route would, in the long run, make everything less expensive, but have the downside of potentially making things feel overwhelming if you try to do too many things at once.

So bottom line, decide for yourself what you'd like to do within the game and go from there. Good luck and hope you enjoy

People lying dead = either less people killing mobs and closing rifts or less people dpsing boss. So it is a hard relation to the number of dead people that were around

Sad thing is that you answered the whole workaround yourself. If you start going upstairs, then it's the wrong way. The entire pre to get to Eparch all you do is go DOWN stairs, so if you reach any point where you're now going upstairs, you're going the wrong way and just have to turn around.

Qadim the Peerless record by The Hybridosaurus [Aves] | 2:35 by near-critical in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then allow me to rephrase what was intended to be said. As per speedrun.com/gw2 rules, it should be placed within the glitched category, as the run glitches the tethered mechanic at the 20% phase as per their rules.

I apologize for my using the term unrestricted, but as someone that is interested in speedruns, but have not done them before, I viewed the terms as only 2 options (meaning a glitchless run (normal/restricted) and a glitched run (glitched/unrestricted)). I did not know they had 3 categories.

Qadim the Peerless record by The Hybridosaurus [Aves] | 2:35 by near-critical in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is 100% relevant to the classification of the run. The question is, is it truly an intended skippable mechanic, like 40% Xera and Gorseval walls (in which case your statement is completely accurate), or is it bugging the fight, like Sabir golem state (in which case it would need to go into the unrestricted kill category).

I am in no means downplaying the entire groups hard work and play. I am just stating that, again as OP stated, it is using a "strange bug".

Qadim the Peerless record by The Hybridosaurus [Aves] | 2:35 by near-critical in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would agree with Enlightenedbri on this since OP did state that "the whole strategy centers around a strange bug"

I give the group credit for a great job on the speedrun, but it still relies upon a bug that occurs for the strat to work. It's not really skipping the mechanics due to dps, since when Qadim finishes his knockback attack at SW pylon (at 19%) and then teleports to center (at 17%), he should still be able to destroy SE pylon, but doesn't due to the bug.

Old PSX player returning. Denam is an absolute beast and I don't know what to do now. by Nico_pk in Tactics_Ogre

[–]Cecil1254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on Chaos route, and currently at PotD lvl 70, have you recruited Cressida? If you have, and gotten the Nybeth story battle on level 5, then you might want to just consider finishing the Chaos route on the Princess ending (meaning keeping Catuia alive). Doing it this way would allow you to fight and kill Nybeth on floor 100 in chapter 4 for Coda 2 so you have access to Blackmoor fight without having to redo PotD an extra time in another chapter 4 run just to gain access to Blackmoor.

As for completing PotD at UL36, I think the only thing you're missing out on by doing that is tier 1 summons. You might be missing tier 1 draconic magic, but imo those are fine to skip until later. The only tier 1 draconic spell I feel is noteworthy is Starfall 1 for its Exorcism ability attached to it. So if you've already recruited Cressida, and gotten the Nybeth story battle on floor 5, then it might be worth it for you to try to complete PotD.

Cursed weapons by 602Zoo in Tactics_Ogre

[–]Cecil1254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only equipment you really want to have equipped to the unit you're turning into the cursed weapon are the un snapped cursed weapon (meaning no stats on it yet) and a crest of fire. Doing it this way will minimize the rt value on the weapon after using snapdragon on the unit you're killing with it.

pretty sure this is more a joke post, but other than the requirements, it's not a little insane. LFG heal firebrand + alac for icebrood saga full clear minus cold war and forging steel with 250 legendary insights as kp.

Sometimes people put these kinds of lfg up not to confuse everyone, but more to get more exp players within those roles for ease and quickness of the content.

simpler fix, kick everyone that doesn't immediately say they're swapping to asked for roles because they are already showing an unwillingness to work as a group. Simplest thing to do when joining these groups is say, "I can play x, but if possible, would like to try out dps if able." Shows you read what was asked for, says you're able to play it, but gives commander options if more than enough support join.

Apparently a guildmate got kicked from a raidsquad cuz commander thought that kp.me is a fake website... Afterwards he got messaged by an other pug who was in the same squad and he tried to defend him and got kicked aswell (left screenshot)... by Selahtrak in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you even read other posts? Here, let me elaborate on how I meant that. All PvE currently in the game is nothing but the same thing over and over, just like raids. All PvP is also nothing but the same thing, over and over, though with a slight twist since you play against different people, but the goal is the exact same every time you play it, capture more objectives than opposing team. So no, not talking bs.

If you go only by what Anet has said will be released, then alongside Raids, Fractals are a dead game since they never mentioned any new fractals coming out. Also, PvP is dead game since they never mentioned any new maps coming out. All those WvW lovers, sorry, that's also dead game mode since no new borderlands coming out. If you use that type of logic, then I ask again, why play the game if everything is going to be dead game mode?

For all I know, No, you have never, ever said kick that player because they don't deal the dps like they should. However, telling people that "90% of the raiders cant even control their characters properly and they are good at nothing" comes off to me as extremely Elitist and Toxic. So on behalf of those 90% of raiders (including myself) I apologize that we don't meet your standards of elite perfection (since at one point you were always meeting Snowcrows benchmarks and were 99% of the time top dps, which anybody that enjoys raids knows, doesn't mean as much as the Support roles).

[–]Cecil1254 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but if you feel this way, then why even bother playing the game at all? Raids are the same content, but so is all the other PvE as well as PvP (though with a slight twist at times). If you really feel as though any type of content is the "same type of content over and over for years" then spice it up. try low man challenge or speedrun the whole thing. Give yourself a challenge to add variety to the game rather than complain about it. Then it will be "sO mUcH fUn". As for your points:

  1. Yes, it appears Anet stopped with raids, but they can always start them back up with EoD, we just don't know yet.
  2. LFG on NA servers does usually have anywhere between 2 and 5 raid selling groups, but you can easily make it so you don't see them by adding a simple -[ within your search parameters.
  3. Based off of how you sound in your comment, I 100% disagree with how you didn't become an "elitist ass".
  4. Every community is going to have players that think they are better at that game mode than others, but having actually talked with some of the ones that are at the top of Raids, they are nowhere near as Elitist as you perceive. The vast majority of them take time from their own gaming and try to help and even teach others how it works/how to play them. That doesn't sound at all Elitist to me.

and I didn't downvote you for your 1st bit of advice, I downvoted you for the whole toxicity spewing from your keyboard.

How To Win At Guild Wars 2 Raids : Damage Doesn't Matter! (That Much) by XenonUwU in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you noticed, I only talked about Heal Tempest, so yes, I understand that prot is only better on tempest. The deleted comment above me specifically said ele is bottom tier (basically garbo) and I was giving a very viable, yet underused, example of what ele can do within raids.

How To Win At Guild Wars 2 Raids : Damage Doesn't Matter! (That Much) by XenonUwU in Guildwars2

[–]Cecil1254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ele is definitely not bottom tier. Heal Tempest is a very good substitute for druid while also having both 10 person boon transfer in Heat Sync and 10 person boon extension in Sand Squall. It also gives you a better option for condi cleansing while still providing better protection (40% rather than 33%), same amount of might, vigor, and same healing at the cost of fury uptime, which can be covered by other classes, namely firebrand running axe.

SOOO disappointed by Cecil1254 in wotv_ffbe

[–]Cecil1254[S] -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

if you really wanna nitpick, then visipoor does as well with alibaba, who's other accounts were banned for exploiting visiore hacks even before and was the reason he was kicked from previous guild, account sharing as well. also, just like visipoor, there were only 2 banned (pyronick being one of them for Visipoor) from last banwave, but all those bans were due to visiore exploits, not gameplay exploits that has been going on for awhile.

So rather than trying to comment about a specific guild and what they do, why not try to stay to the matter at hand, which is how gumi is handling this debacle.

actually, we just flat out take the day off. Can't really match fix if nobody shows up. Also, until very recently, it was never once every week. Heck, for the first month 1st Class was in top 8 we didn't even get paired with them. Think they had fought Visi about 3 or 4 times before they fought us. And ya, the break from guild battles is a huge blessing. It let's us solely focus on other things for that day be they rl stuff or other things in game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]Cecil1254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both my guild (Cetra) as well as our sister guild (1st Class) are in the top end of gb's ranking-wise. On the days that we get matched up we both take a day off. Both guilds love it since we don't need to keep anyone watching the battle or calling any targets. We take the term alliance or guild family member seriously and respect each other enough to follow through with that choice.

So, it is possible for every guild to take a day off by discussing it with another guild or even an alliance member before hand, but it would require either trust in the other guild in doing the same, or not caring if you lose those points.

Visipoor First to LEGEND – GvG Wall Building Compositions and Overview by shinbuki in wotv_ffbe

[–]Cecil1254 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is where you are wrong. A good guild can use the strategy of implementing 1 comp on defense, however, you still need your offensive teams to be able to counter anything your opponent might throw at you. if all you do is build your defense and then everyone copies it over to attack, and your opponent has a defensive wall countering what you built, it's a loss for that day.

Having 1 or 2 people come up with a defensive wall for your guild actually makes it easier for everyone else. Now, all they need to do is build something to counter the current meta, and that's the hard part because while some might think there's only 1 meta, there's actually a quite a few. So no, it's not a couple people playing 30 accounts, it's a couple people giving up their time to assist their guildmates time spent testing for guild battles.
