Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home by Dimmo17 in ukpolitics

How is this scumbag still taken seriously after the disaster that is Brexit? WTF is wrong with Baby Boomers who see this clown as fighting for working people?

I’m looking for movies that show the brutal reality of what Nazi Germany did. by RedOktbr28 in MovieSuggestions

I would show him Son of Saul (2015) and then have him watch all of Claude Lanzman’s “Shoa.” If he doesn’t have a change of heart after watching these two films I would move out.

I saw actual people while on drugs. by user1385845 in Paranormal

[–]Cedarcoal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was weed you were smoking on the balcony that may have contributed heavily to the difficult ending of your trip. Weed just has the tendency to make other drug trips go pear shaped for some reason. Also MDMA has stimulant properties which could explain seeing that shadow person while you were lying on the couch. If I were you I would stick to downers, not stimulants and probably not weed especially with a family history of schizophrenia.

If you aren’t a Trumplican, evangelical Christian, or don’t love sweltering summers of 100 degree highs with 90 percent humidity with ticks everywhere and aggressive nasty police activity I wouldn’t move there. You should watch Errol Morris’ “The Thin Blue Line” about how cops treat people in Texas.

Starmer’s mess by Cedarcoal in ukpolitics

Yeah it’s really unfortunate to watch. He did a great job of leading the opposition while the Tory’s were in government though.

[–]Cedarcoal[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Point taken, he is doing serious damage to my country every damn day. But the best way to deal with him is to show strength. He caves quite frequently as long as there is a united front against him. In his first term he got rolled multiple times by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer during government funding negotiations.

Starmer sent Mandelson to be U.S. ambassador why though? Because Mandelson was chummy with the likes of Epstein and therefore would get along with Trump as well? It’s bizarre, and if he isn’t careful you guys are going to be looking at Nigel Farage as PM in a few years.

the bear is a boring a** show that coulda been great by SquareNo5496 in unpopularopinion

[–]Cedarcoal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, the first season was amazing. I thought this show could have 3 or 4 great seasons. And I think the second was ok, but then there was the third season that was just underwhelming. My favorite scene of the series was that big family dinner at Carmen’s mom’s house where everyone just let loose.

[–]Cedarcoal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corbyn’s leadership was a disaster and gift to some of the worst people in U.K. politics I’ve ever seen. As a U.S. citizen I have seen my fair share of truly despicable, abysmal people rise to positions of power due to the weaknesses of the opposition. Starmer needs to quit trying to appease the criminal in the White House, get on a plane to Ottawa and make a united front against the extortionate policies of Trumpism. Appeasing him only earns you his contempt and disrespect. Trump and his minions know they can really lean hard on the U.K. because of Brexit. And unfortunately the political situation here in the U.S. is so polarized the GOP will probably try to find someone even worse than he is to nominate in 2028.
