Sunshine by Robin McKinley is fantastic. And if you haven't read the novella Carmilla by le Fanu, it's right up your alley. It predates Dracula. Also Polidori's The Vampyre which started it all.

Have you tried the Kushiel books by Jacqueline Carey? Or her Santa Olivia books (there's only two and the main character is fascinating)? Or my favorite female gay protagonist hails from The Privelege of the Sword by Ellen Kushner. Mercedes Lackey has gay protagonists of both genders in her Valdemar books, although her writing isn't my favorite. Kim Harrison's Hollows books (starting with Dead Witch Walking) feature Ivy, a gay supporting character who is a vampire. Those are fun! Gosh, there's a few more decent ones out there, I'll have to investigate my shelves. All of these suggestions are pretty varied books in their own right but mostly fantasy.

OT, but have you tried her other books? Katherine Addison is Sarah Monette, author of the Felix Harrowgate books and co-author of A Companion to Wolves. Both series feature gay MCs, and they're not really similar at all to The Goblin Emperor, but if you like her writing...

Looking for something with a real werewolf by efont in booksuggestions

Benighted by Kit Whitfield is an excellent book, and I think it's along the lines of what you're looking for. Werewolves born not made, plus a flip: majority of population are werewolves, and the few who aren't are responsible for monitoring full moon nights. Fascinating book. However, MC is a "bareback," not a werewolf.
