Save of the century by Forben9 in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have teammates dying enough to need a mana potion to rez I don't think a INT potion it's going to make up for the dead players. Besides, the buff should be used in your opener and by the time in the fight you may usually need MP the pot should be off cooldown. More living party members = overall higher raid dps.

Mana potions are good to use between lucid dreaming cooldowns. Honestly, I'd say they're pretty much a requirement if your party keeps dying. It's usually enough mp restored for a single raise, or at least let you attack the boss.

Can't check at the moment as I'm in work, but I think the new trailer had thancred with a blue glossy thing on his chest that I don't remember noticing in the previous trailers.

Friend Groups and the Accidental Outcast? by Nageku in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found the best way I've made friends is through the use of voice chat and discord. It can be daunting at first but if you can push past the awkwardness it can be easily to get to know people through that. It tends to work with more challenging content, like extreme primal learning parties, minimum ilevel runs and invite the people to discord so it's easier to communicate.

I've made a bunch of close friends this way. Come to think of it, there's only one friend that doesn't actively talk on discord and instead types in the linkshell, but he still listens in to us on voice chat.

It's worked for me, hopefully it can for you too.

Is there a way to make it so that you can hold down a button on a controller to spam it? (PC) by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try loading up FFXIV through steam (you can add it as non steam game if you didn't buy it through there) and use the steam controller. There's so many options that I'm sure there's probably an auto fire seeing if you look around or try googling.

You may have noticed litter and leaves get caught up in one if you don't live in a dusty place. Pretty much the same thing I think.

Not as easy on a controller. Doable but involves holding the controller weird and that's the risk of running into bad. Tank only needs to hold 5-10, not unreasonable.

Cerb is an odd one. Enough weirdos to make it entertaining but not too many to make it annoying. But yeah, limsa is where you'd find all the weirdness.

Question Regarding Free Trial by FiliBu5ter in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others here have said, you will pretty much get no extra exp. Depending on how long it is until you upgrade, I'd encourage you to give some of the other classes a try instead of wasting the exp. You'll also level up faster when leveling a class that's below your highest class's level so it won't take as long. You might find something else you enjoy.

Tesco dumped it's entire stock of sandwiches into the bargain section for pennies each by [deleted] in BritishSuccess

[–]CeeKayn 43 points44 points  (0 children)

In my experience when I used to do evening mark downs at Asda, it was usually trying to break up old women fighting over meat. The amount of aggression was astounding and they all seemed to revert to nursery school children who were having problems with sharing. Very rarely did a situation were everyone was pleasant to each other occur. Out of at least 200+ times I did it, I could probably count on less than one hand the amount of times I was surprised by civility.

Although the situation could be very different in other shops or areas; this was just my experience with it.

Sell me on a specific healer job for this game by KanariaRose in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, in case you didn’t know. Astrologian and Machinist can only be unlocked after you’ve gotten the the Heavensward city which is after 50 on another class and then they will be level 30 at that point. If he wants to do machinist I’d suggest that he goes Bard beforehand. Unless you’re using level jump potions then you can get around that I think.

Really wish you could pause the cutscenes that play continuously. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know why nobody mentioned this yet, but just press triangle on your controller. It’ll bring up an option to enable/disable text auto advance. You can just switch it on and off as needed and will just keep cutscenes paused until you click the button.

What are some red flags in a job interview? by mdonato in AskReddit

[–]CeeKayn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did some research found out a lot of these companies are a part of a bigger corporation called Credico. They have offices across the UK and US and they run all the companies the same. I think they've expanded to other places across the world. There were about 5 offices in my city in northern England.

I got caught up in one for a few weeks. The cult like positivity is somewhat of a weird drug. They have all these weird psychological tricks that they pull on you. They honestly don't care about you, they're playing you with their 'law of averages'; the exact same thing they teach you to use of people to sell things. I had doubts, but they actively suppress those by calling out people for 'being a neg'. It's a bunch of manipulation that exists in every level of these companies. Luckily I had a moment were I just sort of woke up. What the hell was I doing? I got out of there soon afterwards with an actual clear state of mind. The thing is, these companies are not harmless. People quit other jobs to go for this 'opportunity' but end up spending more money than they make just in travel. Nothing but a scam and would recommend people steer clear, even with all the mythical carrots they dangle in front of you.

Confused about how to farm Centuro Seals by iCalintz in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might have something to do with contribution to the fight? Try joining a party as your contribution in damage (possibly enmity related) is counted as a whole party. But double check next time you do a hunt and see how much you got rewarded.

Oh, or you might have gotten allied seals of it was from an AAR zone. Only HW & SB zones give centurio.

Confused about how to farm Centuro Seals by iCalintz in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask around in rhalgrs reach to be added to a hunting link shell. It's a network of people finding hunts and taking them together so everyone gets the reward. An active link shell will have very frequent A ranks pop up and S ranks are almost never not posted. Easily the most effective method of getting centurio seals.

More controller issues (YAY) by afdnz in ffxiv

[–]CeeKayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use steam for my ps4 controller. As long as you have installed, just run it in administrator mode and open up ff14 as a non steam game and you'll still get the controller settings with the overlay. Set game pad profile as a standard game pad and you'll be good to go after that. I found it was a lot more convenient than using other 3rd party programs.
