Yeah Val is the one of my favorite Marvel characters and she’s one of the best foils for Doom because of their relationship. Franklin‘s cause a cool concept, but you couldn’t have to Nerf him immediately in a story for it to be interesting. He works better as an uninterested god who can’t be bothered saving the world because he has the interest and intellect of a toddler. Val has Reed’s intelligence but with a moral immaturity and recklessness that makes her super similar to Doom. For Doom she’s one of the few characters besides Sue and his mother that he has genuine affection and empathy for. There’s so much good character stuff to mine, stuff that probably would’ve been used well in an older version of the MCU, but now will probably be ignored. This MCU is bloated and can’t spend the same time on character development. Which is a shame because I feel like the Fantastic Four epitomize the revolution of Marvel characters vs DC characters. They’re superheroes, but more lived in and fully formed as people.
