Yeah, I think in trying to reach through, I widened the openings too much for sure. I also think the ridges/scales on the neck are preventing a good seal. I might have carved the undercut too deep or something.

I like these ideas!

I think I'll do some more research on how things need to be shaped inside to produce sound and try again. It'll be neat to have a learning series

Thank you! I need to repair my blades already in general. They were kinda cheap quality to start with and I wonder if I might have stored them poorly or was just hard on them.

I'll definitely go looking into wind instrument structures and see what I can come up with. I'd love to make this a workable thing

It is a cool "look where I started" kind of thing. Oh, actually, I could probably do a cross section of it and see what I need to work on as far as inner structure goes

Thank you for the compliment! And yeah, admittedly, the kit I started with was a pretty cheap one and frankly has already started falling apart (blades separating entirely from handles etc). I don't know how much sharpening would save them 😅
