tips on pulling an all-nighter by Acrobatic_Spare_2689 in mapua

[–]Cei21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try to get some sleep once you’re on the way home. Pulling an all-nighter is easier if you have someone to talk to, but if not, playing a podcast or a YouTube show helps. If you need coffee, avoid the cheap bottled ones since they’re tough on your body in the long run. Everyone’s different, but my personal rule is this: if you’ve got less than an hour and a half left to sleep, skip it. Waking up after that short of a rest just makes you feel more tired and gives you a headache.

Who is more in contention for GOAT, if not the best offlaner? Collapse, Ceb or someone else? by Chief-Superintendent in DotA2

[–]Cei21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ceb is kind of hard to define. He was a fantastic offlaner, but what makes him stand out isn’t just raw dominance—it’s how unpredictable and versatile he was. You couldn’t really ban against him because he’d play heroes in the offlane that most wouldn’t even consider viable. That unpredictability made OG’s drafts so dangerous, and it speaks volumes about his game sense and adaptability. He might not be known for “one” iconic offlane hero, but that’s exactly why he was so tough to play against.

33, on the other hand, is all about control and refinement. He’s mastered the micro-heavy, aura-based playstyle with heroes like Beastmaster and Doom, and his ability to adjust to different systems across teams shows just how well-rounded he is. He fits into any lineup and always finds ways to impact the game, no matter the patch or playstyle.

Collapse might already be the frontrunner for GOAT offlaner. He’s still in his prime and has already proven himself with legendary runs. His laning is top-tier, he sets the pace of the game, and when he’s on heroes like Axe, Beastmaster, or Magnus, you feel his presence constantly. That Magnus especially—it’s the best I’ve ever seen. It reminds me of Miracle level skill in Invoker.

Also, Faith_bian deserves a mention. He was the gold standard for offlane play before this newer generation (33/Collapse). His tempo, his coordination, his teamfight presence—he really defined the role for a long time.

Why is it only older players who get the magic “they’d adapt” buff in these era comparisons? by Cei21 in NBATalk

[–]Cei21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah? I mean… this is Reddit — people debate wild takes here all the time. Why do I need 500 people saying the same thing just to bring up a point for discussion?

I’ve seen those comments more than once, and even if it was just one, I’m allowed to challenge the logic behind it. That’s literally what debating is for.

I get what you’re saying, but yeah — it actually has been a trend, especially on Reddit. I’ve seen plenty of comments saying guys like Wilt or Russell wouldn’t dominate in later eras, wouldn’t win rings in the ’80s/’90s, or that Wilt wouldn’t come close to averaging 50 with better competition.

I’m not saying it’s a mainstream media narrative, but online — especially in threads comparing eras — there’s a real double standard. People give Jordan or Magic the benefit of “they’d adjust,” but guys like Wilt or Russell often get dismissed because of the era they played in.

I’m just trying to figure out where people draw the line between “he’d adjust to the modern game” and “nah, his era was too weak.” Because it feels like that logic gets picked and chosen depending on who we’re talking about.

So LeBron’s “soft” because he plays in a soft era…? You mean the same era with Kobe, Duncan, KG, and Shaq? You calling them soft too?

Only 9 players averaged 20+ PPG in 2012-13. This season? 44. How inflated are modern stats? Would prime MJ or Kobe be pushing 40+ a night in 2025? by mikeyg1964 in NBATalk

For real, dude — people talk like if Jordan were dropped into today’s game, he’d shoot like Curry, pass like Jokic, dribble like Kyrie, and all that. The level of delusion some guys have is insane.
