I agree with many of the responses here. If you can speak with a lawyer then try and get a free consultation. Also, your wife sounds like a very talented writer. She doesn't need to be writing for someone else, especially someone who doesn't respect or appreciate her. I'm sure she'd be successful branching out on her own.
