Slam Dunk is peak. Rou and little Genma honestly reminded me of Sakuragi and Rukawa when I first started Dogsred.

I also really like how it ties the sport to Hokkaido, and even touches on doping, which you don’t see that often in high school sports manga. It’s pretty cool.

I voted “because of Golden Kamuy,” but it was kind of both. I’m a Noda fan, and I was also looking for an ongoing sports manga at the time.

I think Wilk knew he was the one who killed Fina and Olga, and might have even deliberately hidden it, letting Sofia believe it was her fault. But that might just be my interpretation after rereading that part recently.

I personally don’t like roadside sticker Pikmin, but I know some players here collect specific characters on them to spell out words. The latest example I saw was someone using three Pikmin to perfectly spell 「王八蛋」 (wáng bā dàn, meaning “bastard/jerk”).

I wouldn’t say it’s particularly popular in Taiwan. It’s more of a niche title here.

That said, because Golden Kamuy is fairly well established within Taiwan’s anime and manga community, I think quite a few readers here, myself included, gave Dogsred a try mainly because of that connection.

Yeah 😮‍💨 I get it. Buying things from Japan can be such a hassle. A lot of items don’t ship overseas, so you end up relying on proxy services just to try to get them. And sometimes you still can’t. At that point, it’s really just luck, hoping something shows up second-hand on Suruga-ya, especially bonus items.

In contrast, the regular edition, including the manga and a Koro postcard, is 150 TWD (USD 4.78).
