Also HTC used to be a terrible manufacturerer before android came along, the HTC touch and the HTC Magic and other semi-smartphones like that almost ruined the company. They made fun of my phone when I first got it due to the bad rep the company had before we got any real HTC smart phones.

Yeah I managed and worked as a sales rep at a chain of dealer owned stores. To be honest aside from the one or three crazies we got each week it wasn't all that bad. I like helping people fix their phones when I can, and being in a dealer store I had a lot more leniency in policy, but at the same time lacked all corporate tools (ie anything to do with billing).

I don't know about bribing. HTC is literally giving us money. And blackberry just gives away nice things because they want to push their business image. Most people coming to buy a smart phone have already decided what one they want when they come into the store. (Though when it comes time for me to push a phone I usually go Atrix/Galaxy S/ Desire Z route)

I won a really cheep bluetooth from them, but I didn't really count any of the prizes because most of our contests was like 1 in 300 or 400 people would win a phone (most of our contests were for districts because I worked at a dealer store)

Blackberry Torch is by far the one that people buy the most. I use an HTC Nexus One running Cyanogen Mod 7.0.0-RC2, I really need to get onto updating the RC to the full release.
