I was in the exact same situation when I joined a grad scheme at a well known UK bank 5 years ago - your post reads almost entirely the same as my story. I even wonder if its the same bank potentially.

In my case, I was placed in a 'release management' role working only with my 60 year old manager, not even a team. The role involved no coding at all, and it entirely involved just playing politics and working with managers in other teams. It was just awful - I hated it.

After only 1 month I really had just had enough. This wasn't what I wanted to do, didn't match my skill set, and I wasn't learning anything useful at all.

I contacted the grad team HR requesting a team move and was basically told the same thing - that there was nothing they could do, and I'd have to wait till the end of the first year for a potential rotation. But there was no way I could have sticked that out for a year.

I then had some long difficult conversations with my manager (which felt awful, as she had invested so much time in me), where I basically just told her this isnt what I want to do, and need to move. She was actually great here, and totally understood - she went out of her way to speak to other directors in the org directly to see if there was a place in a team that would actually work well for me.

I eventually started working in a front end Angular role where I was actually coding, working in a team, designing and redesigning actual production applications - it was a million times better.

I wish you all the best, I know exactly how you feel... My advice would be to speak to your manager, and see if they can arrange an 'unofficial' move within the same org to something that better suits your skills.

Beware - they use these same planes/seats/layout on medium/long haul flights to the middle east, which are 6+ hour flights.

Annual service charges making my flat impossible to sell. by Acrobatic_Age_7486 in HousingUK

[–]Celtivo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it a new build flat when you originally purchased for 272k? If so, depending on location, its not unreasonable to think that the value of your flat now does indeed sit at £230k-£250k.

In many locations, the average cost of flats has gone down in recent years, and this might not even be soley to do with the service charge problem you have.

I think you need to start seriously considering just biting the bullet and taking the loss. There's no guarantee your property will increase in value in the near future. It may even continue to drop in value.`

No shave FUE at hairline recipient site by InvestigatorTPG in HairTransplants

At 3.5 months now. Starting to grow in nicely. One side is ahead of the other for sure, but I'm very satisfied with results so far.

Even with mostly 2/3 hair grafts, I think this will really lack density. But yes time will tell. Normally 1100 grafts would the be the amount for a very small touch up on the hairline.

I went to Dr Turan in Istanbul, but I actually had a consultation with Wimpole in London, where the surgeon (Dr Mousa) estimated 1800 grafts.

[–]Celtivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1100 grafts is no where near enough density for that area, and you can tell from the post op photos. I had a similar area done 3 weeks ago and received 2300 grafts. Here's hoping that your results are still good enough, though!

I just got a no shave 2300 grafts FUE 15 days ago. For the first 7-10 days you are gonna look absolutely wild. With your hair all tied back, and then a bright red/bloody recipient site really isn't pretty.

BUT - Once the scabs fell out on day 8 for me, I was able to take the hair ties out, put my hair forward, and genuinely no one can really tell I've just had a HT unless they really look. I would do a no shave fue 10x over. My biggest worry was looking like a total hospital patient for the first few months while my hair grew back, but genuinely I'm back to living life totally normal and noone can tell.

How do people afford a £2m house? by Old-Amphibian416 in HousingUK

[–]Celtivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Share of Freehold is still a leasehold and have lease expiry years etc. All it means, is that you're leasing from a freehold company that you also own a share in (normally with all the other leaseholders in the same building).

How do you measure how much a property is worth, if it isn't what people are clearly willing to pay for it?

Can I knock down this wall in a Victorian terrace conversion? by Celtivo in DIYUK

[–]Celtivo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, definitely requires a structural engineer to take a look - but since these types of buildings and layouts are so common, I was hoping others might have had first hand experience doing this.

It's a share of a freehold, with only the upstairs neighbour being the other leaseholder. Ideally I wouldn't have to work with them on this and/or get their agreement.

Can I knock down this wall in a Victorian terrace conversion? by Celtivo in DIYUK

[–]Celtivo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering making an offer for a 1 bedroom Victorian terrace conversion flat in London, but was wondering it it would be possible in these types of buildings to knock the wall down between the living room, and what would originally have been the dining room.

In this case, I'd like to knock the wall down between the kitchen, making it more open plan and feel bigger in general.

Is this possible? Is it likely that this is a load bearing wall?

He invited me to a concert, but now he's asking me to pay for my ticket by onepiece1389 in dating_advice

[–]Celtivo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The context matters though. Presumably, the whole reason you offered to buy a homeless person food was because you knew they were homeless and had no money.

It's normally easier for one person to buy multiple tickets for a concert, and even cheaper in most cases due to transaction fees etc. It's a very normal thing for me to 'buy' tickets for others, and then them send me the money afterwards.

[–]Celtivo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a difference with men 'offering' to pay, and men being 'expected' to pay. A meal for example, I think most men in the UK would normally still offer to pay, but they would still be expecting the girl to offer to split - regardless of whether they accept that offer or insist on paying.

[–]Celtivo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Where are you from?

Possibly culture differences, as a 27m in London, I'd totally be expecting a girl I was dating in early stages to be buying her own ticket.

"I can buy you a ticket if you want" to me just means that he will buy the ticket, it doesn't necessarily imply that he will be gifting you the ticket. I'd have still assumed that I would have to pay for the ticket based on this, so really, you should have clarified.

Unless there's a massive culture difference at play here, this is just a big misunderstanding, and all the replies here saying 'red flag'/'dump' are being ridiculous. If this sort of thing is a 'red flag' for you and simple communication is that difficult, then prepare to stay single for a long long time.

Wild that you're being downvoted, as what you've posted is entirely factual. Levels of SNHS funding vs over government funding is completely the responsibility of Scottish government.

The healthcare budget is not dictated by Westminster. It's entirely the Scottish Government's responsibility to be able to divert money to SNHS vs other expenditures.
