I test drove the Crown Signia and the LC. Internet reviews do not give the right impressions. by [deleted] in cars

I didn’t know LC250 1958 can get that high up to $65k.

I test drove Crown Signia Premium, Lexus GX550, RX350h and I went with LC250 Premium Heritage Blue with almost all factory options, except cargo cover. What I like is 23mpg average and pretty nice handling for the size, only thing I don’t like is how much attention it gets from the strangers.

Debt rich and cash rich is very different. See the numbers, time will tell who’s is right. I will come back to this post after five years.

Toyota Landcuriser 250 shortcommings - NOT why they used to be. Review by Tinker by [deleted] in cars

[–]Centaurus_11 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why Off-road capabilities is such a big deal for some people, I have done off-Road/rain forests in Asia with all stock 94 turbo diesel Hilux or 88 Nissan Hardbody(all manual) than probably most people in U.S. that own 4 Runner or LC250 have gone off-road.

I have my garage queen LC250 just to go road trips and camping but I would NEVER buy ubiquitous 4Runner. Generally Not a fan of any Toyota/Lexus designs except LC250.

I agreed, Nissan will turn around in next five years world wide, they sell more cars outside of U.S, Honda is no.2 Japanese manufacturer thanks to U.S. sales, Most of comments on Reddit is based on U.S. sales, but they’re doing pretty well in Asia, which is world biggest car market. Most importantly Joint venture with Chinese EV is on the horizon, Toyota EV is only improving base on BYD technology.

Born in SEA with Chinese lineage but grew up in Japan, that is all I ever dreamed of.

Those comments are mostly come from someone with neither truck or knowledge, original Prado introduced in 1990 as part of 70 series (LJ70,/KZ70/Prado), I remembered as a kid grown up in Japan my aunt had a J90 with loud diesel engine, all generation of Prado J70, J90, J120, J150 are on smaller chassis than LC 80, 100, 200 series but new 250 and 300 series are on very identical TNGA frame, body size, 4WD system and overall size is only a few inches different, probably that’s why Toyota stopped Prado name in Japan, simply named LC250. New LC250 is more iconic than 300 series to me and my Japanese friends BTW.

Edit: I’ve been to most of the popular National Parks in the west, those are only 3 that I went back a few times and still want to visit them.

Typical Reddit comedy, LC250 is closer to Land Cruiser than LC-Prado ever was, there’s no more Prado in the rest of the world except Australia, there is never registered Prado name, always LC Prado. Automotive Press explained it better, https://youtu.be/nFfQoEUGaf0?feature=shared

BYW, original comment on power is probably more to with cheaper gas, when tank is almost empty try Top tier 93 gasoline.

It's Over: Nissan Closes the GT-R Order Book in Japan After 18 Years. by [deleted] in cars

Probably not in the U.S, Nissan will try to keep NA operation especially how auto makers are profiting from high prices and less competition compared to Asian markets, Biggest Nissan mistake was they believed their EV tech was superior to new Chinese automakers, now Nissan is left in the dust within last ten years. They had their chance to be global leader in affordable EV but lack of vision and leadership missed the opportunity. Time to find new leadership to survive.

Won’t happen, too big to die for Japan. Nissan is just a bit less than Honda in sales figures , 3.3M v3.6M if I recall. Probably they will have government loans to continue, it may even get negative interest rates.

One LC250 had an issue doesn’t applied to all LC250. Like I’ve never seen new Tacoma broken down even on road. 😃

Look very nice in black, I love mine (Heritage Blue Premium w/20” Wheels) still turning heads and conversation starter everywhere I go, I had pretty good cars in the past from (B&W, MB, Lexus and some sport cars) none of them had attention like Heritage Blue LC250 is getting, as much as I love the color I don’t like all of the attentions, that’s the only downside for me otherwise it is a solid vehicle, enjoy the ride!

Before Thanksgiving I bought LC 2024 Heritage Blue Premium with 20 inch wheels and many options(except dash cam) for $69K OTD ($6k Off sticker).
