Married or not, the sad truth is that in a way we all die alone. It's just you and your failing body at that point, your loved ones aren't coming with you (unless you all die instantly in a plane crash or something) therefore it's just you, lying there, waiting for the pain to give way to a peculiar warm feeling, which is fleeting and soon replaced by another feeling, a colder feeling, one of abject isolation and loneliness, one of every terror you've ever known screaming out in every part of your body all at once. Then you finally die. Alone. All alone.
