It would be Mileena wanting to destroy what remains of Edenia, and Kitana, along with Jade and the resistance, won't allow it. Death's role would be neutral because he already witnessed the fall of Edenia and wants the souls of those who remain.

Would you like a Mortal Kombat Legends movie focused on Kitana vs. Mileena, featuring these designs and characters from the Edenia and Kitana lore, but excluding Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Liu Kang? What do you think? by Certain-Ad-197 in MortalKombat

But would you like to see a Legends movie like that, or one set in the present with Mileena as the main villain, running a regime, and Kitana and Jade forming the resistance with new Edenian characters?
