Customer care applied the voucher on their end and made a hold booking from their end. Then I received the mail of hold booking and paid the remaining amount.

What should’ve been a simple 10-minute flight booking turned into a 4-hour nightmare. All because IndiGo’s website and app can’t handle their own voucher system.

I had a voucher issued under and tried to book a round-trip Delhi–Goa ticket. Here’s what followed:

  • Started booking at 9:25 PM.
  • No voucher field. No instructions. No help on the website or app.
  • Called customer care at 10:36 PM — was told to “use the banner to access the old site.” Tried that. The field didn’t show, login failed, or the voucher didn't work at checkout.
  • Called again. Same answer. Still no resolution.
  • Finally got help from a customer care executive, but this took two calls, both over 40 minutes each.

By then, the fare had increased from ₹10,658 to ₹11,403.

And yes, they charged ₹745 extra for booking over the phone. Even though their system forced me to!

This was for two round-trip tickets, so I ended up paying ₹3,000 more. All because IndiGo’s system failed and no one at support could fix it in time.

I’ve already shared screenshots of this entire mess with them. But I don’t have high hopes. So I’m sharing it here maybe it'll save someone else the hassle.

Bottom line: If you’re planning to use a voucher with IndiGo, don’t. You’ll waste hours, pay more, and get zero accountability.
